I’m actually shocked that it is just a good kids book. The main joke is on the cover, and that’s about it.

I met my fiancée at a training thing for work. Everyone canceled except her her, me, and the teacher, so we had a lot of time to talk lol. We are getting married in a year and a half.

I strongly reccomend Zorin OS. I was in his exact shoes when I decided to switch to Linux and for very similar reasons. It feels pretty similar to Windows 7 IMHO, and I like its default dynamic background that changes throughout the day. Steam games run great on it btw.

The other reason I reccomend Zorin is that it is aimed at windows users and Mac users. There’s an “app store” that is in fact a software manager, most windows apps run pretty well (although I reccomend using Bottles for that) and the layout is designed to feel similar to Windows. All the fun Linux stuff is still right there for you to use, it’s just slightly out of sight so it doesn’t overwhelm you at the beginning.

Poor cavy is too little to understand that it is in mortal peril. I bet it still thinks the snake is a friend.

I use linux for the same reason I wear fuzzy socks and sweaters

My understanding of the history of fashion is that back in the 1950s America it was expected that you wore a suit/dress at work unless you had a different uniform. There were a bunch of very boring people who thought that we should be wearing office job garb all the time, because they wore suits so much it was their default...

Microsoft is the suits. Suits are for office work. Microsoft is for office work.

Mine doesn’t work. Definitely linux’s fault that I destroyed its wifi giblets while moving my PC a bit too aggressively

The main thing missing from the other comments is that the Brawling didn’t become mainstream until the 2005 telecom bubble and the 2008 financial crisis. People are more willing to fistfight over hearing aid batteries when they have gone from prosperity to moderate financial discomfort within a year or two. Now things just suck in general. No point in punching aomeone over a flat-screen TV when you could be using that money for rent. I haven’t seen anything crazy happen on black Friday in years

If you’re gaming, you should be using a distro that is stable. Arch is not worth the effort if you are just doing normie stuff like front-end work

Same. Literally the reason I started using Zorin OS was because it was pretty. Not any sort of logical reason, just “Windows is Ugly, Zorin is Pretty”

I am offended that Zorin OS isnt on here. But what tank would it be? Which tank is fairly reliable, user-friendly, and very pretty?

Fun fact: programs for gifted kids have historically been far more underfunded than programs for other exceptional students.

By the way, the euphemism of “exceptional children” pleases my autistic brain way more than any other word for Special Education students. It has all the compliment-sounding qualities of “Special Needs” but is even more literal than any previous euphemism. It literally means “kids that teachers need to make exceptions for”
