Turun,

I think the main distinction is lactose. And/or the proteins that are present in milk.

While oat milk and consorts can be used in a lot of use cases it’s not a one to one replacement and it’s dishonest to claim it is.

Turun,

A better comparison may be the inequality before the civil war. Which was then improved by fighting a war about it.

So it may also get wayyy worse before it gets better again.

(Though I also agree with the assessment that it’s pretty overdramatized by the media)

Turun,

From the top of my head, it’s approximately 7 to 1 conversion.

So I totally agree: your prices are pretty ridiculous in the US! 300k DKK for 17kWp of solar?!?

Turun,

From an outside perspective Trump was a shit show.

I don’t really care about your internal politics, but what I can say is that he had a massive impact on America’s credibility in the world. If you can just leave and rejoin the Paris climate agreement or unilaterally end the Iran nuclear oversight program, why should anyone really trust you on anything?

Joe Biden did a lot to repair this loss in trust, but it’s hard work and will take longer than one presidential period. Much longer than it took to damage your credibility in the world.

Turun,

Thanks. I know that in theory, but didn’t make the connection.

Makes a lot of sense in that sketch.

Turun,

Ah, makes sense. I didn’t make that connection even though I am aware of the donkey and elephant symbolism.

Turun,

In German it’s the elephant who can’t peacefully exist in a china shop lol

Why wasn't NYC's Central Park concept copied by other cities?

I’m talking about a massive park in the absolute heart of the city. Located such that is naturally surrounded by city high rises. *People are giving examples of parks that are way off in the boonies. I’m trying to say located centrally, heart of the city, you know where the high rises are. Yes I understand nyc has more, the...

Turun,

What’s with all the bad faith discussion.

Good question. Do you need a mirror to figure it out?

Turun,

Yes, because the internet is not restricted to English letters.

Just imagine you had to visit アップル instead of apple.com! And most importantly, would you trust yourself to see the difference that and say プッアル consistently without seeing the real reference?

Just to be clear, I hate it when the browsers hides part of the url too. Show me the https god damn! But internationalization is a good thing, as it makes the internet accessible to more people.

Turun,

Maybe they don’t know how to use debian, because it uses systemd?

(Insert SpongeBob meme here:
“I like mx Linux”
“What does that mean?”
“It means he’s afraid of systemd”
“No it doesn’t”
systemctl restart sshd journalctl
“Stop it, you’re scaring him”)

Turun,

Yeah, I’d say ~50% are close enough to be considered basically correct.

Rip Italy though.

Turun,

No, it’s an image compression format derived from the VP8 codec.

Turun,

I bet that while we have less general pollution and less dumping trash in the environment kinda things, we have developed much more potent insecticides. And if those insecticides do not degrade within a few weeks they will accumulate in the earth and the water.

Edit: Wikipedia about one type of modern pesticides: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neonicotinoid

Turun,

It’s not. It’s much closer to kite surfing. Most importantly you don’t need a keel for a kite and it also takes up way less space when not in use.
