UnfortunateShort, to lemmyshitpost in This is just cruel

It might be mildly annoying, I give you that, but throwing a tantrum about people enjoying the same stuff as you but “not enough” or “the wrong way” is super immature and petty.

It’s exactly this mindset that started the bullshit wars regarding cultural appropriation.

What does tell you a lot about WW2 are late night TV documentaries on N24 tho (I think they were bought and rebranded?)

UnfortunateShort, to linux in Video editor for Linux?

Shotcut is great, especially because ffmpeg, GPU acceleration and very easy to learn workflows (although admittedly not so intuitive that you get them right away).

I don’t know about Kdenlive, but I tried Openshot and found it to be much slower and lacking functionality, although it’s even easier to use for the basics.

I like the thought that the first contact might be with people living in exile, because they were fed up with their society killing itself and their planets.

Space hippies. I’m sure they’d have memes.

You can be a CEO even in a communism. It’s literally just a job.

UnfortunateShort, (edited ) to linux in Just install EndeavorOS lol

It is actually very easy:

  1. You setup auto-snapshots (almost trivial)
  2. You update
  3. Evaluate
    3.1) Repeat goto 2
    3.2) Rollback goto 2

The only problem here is that snapshots (and btrfs for that matter) are not the default behaviour. I would really appreciate Endeavour having this as the default setup. It is very likely what you’d want.

I’d say Linux today is a lot more interesting. Plus most people still don’t really care about there OS, but some now care about privacy.

That said, I don’t know why you would complain over Win11. Privacy violations aside, it’s much better than 10 imo.

And now back to reality:

Step 1) Install EndeavourOS Step 2) There is none.

That’s not true, think of all the small to medium businesses there are. All of them got “CEOs” or whatever you want to call them and in many cases they do regular work besides leading the company.

I know a quite a few people who are very happy in their respective companies. Heck, I’m employed in the perfect template of a bureaucratic, capitalist megacorp and our CEOs shield us from a lot of bullshit of the group we belong to.

I think “CEOs = bad” is oversimplifying a lot. We just don’t hear about the good ones, because ragebait sells and capitalist media is something actually fucked up at this point

Isn’t h265 proprietary? Maybe they just didn’t want to pay license fees

UnfortunateShort, to memes in I'm really getting over the enshitification of the internet.

For real tho, I’m not paying Netflix money for a single damn news outlet. The prices are absurd.

UnfortunateShort, to memes in Who knew creating the worlds largest repository of information would be a mistake?

There are also lotteries that spend most of the money on charity. Worst case you do something good with most of the money you put in. Nothing wrong with that

If only most wet wipes weren’t non-flushable (even if they say they are, many are in fact not) and terrible for the environment. Still have to find a good brand.

UnfortunateShort, to linux in I'm so frustrated rn.

Funnily enough, Fedora is the only distro I’ve ever had and still have the infamous Linux sound driver problems with

Actually, you are right. I will stand by my point that Nano tells you what to press, but I wonder where I got the stuff about Ctrl+X… I am very positive that I have used it at some point (outside of Nano), but maybe my brain is playing tricks on me 🤔
