Zron,

“Allow the kids to have fun”

Should have told that to my PE teacher in grade school. I’ve never been good at dancing, and I got pulled aside multiple times in front of the class because I just couldn’t follow some of the dances we were supposed to do. These weren’t for competitions or anything, just as an activity.

That’s when I learned that not all bullies are children.

Zron,

That makes it so much worse.

You see how he bit his lip? Now that’s some sexual tension.

Zron,

Calling chatGPT an other is a level of tech worship I’ve never seen before.

It has no capacity for understanding or thought. It’s a fancy predictive text generator. Yes it’s cool, but at the end of the day it does the same thing as my phone’s keyboard, just for longer and with better grammar.

Zron,

These are shit. Aging wheels on YouTube did a review on them.

They have lead acid batteries, so it’ll trim a full yard once or twice on a charge for about 6 months. After a year or so you have to replace the batteries. That’s like 400 bucks worth of batteries every year.

Zron,

No, chickens are made of eggs.

It’s all eggs

Zron,

Aluminum was the original spelling, adding an extra I was a British thing so aluminum can match the pronunciation of other elements like helium, lithium, beryllium, uranium, and plutonium.

Why didn’t you guys change iron to ironium? Or hydrogen to hydrogenium? Tungsten to tungstenium? Lead to leadium?

It doesn’t make any sense to change one element name when there are plenty of other elements that don’t match the naming scheme.

Zron,

They can force you to work.

Slavery is still legal in the US as a punishment under the 14 amendment

Zron,

I’ll wait until there a cheap surgery to fix motion sickness.

Can’t play any VR game for more than an hour or 2 before I feel like I’m gonna fall over or hurl.

Zron,

Have you ever seen a horse in real life?

I’ve seen broccoli with more brain activity than your average horse.

Zron,

Also the return of paper towels for hand drying.

I hate those stupid air dryers. Most of them barely do any better than just shaking your hands in the air, because they’re simply spraying your clean hands with all of the shit and piss particles that are floating in the air.

Would rather have some cheap paper towels so I can dry my hands, and use the towel to open the door before throwing it in the trash.

Zron,

my best friend works directly for a military contractor, I don’t need to play 6 degrees.

Zron,

There’s three things you don’t mess with.

US and oil.

US and their boats.

And the US and an excuse to pump more money into the military industrial complex that masquerades as our Economy.

You should also avoid bears in general.

Zron,

Isn’t the company behind this just a PO Box and a guy making Blender videos in his home office?

It’s Orbital Construction or something like that. There big claim to fame was a rig that loosely stuck together some metal trusses in a parking lot. Somehow they plan to turn this into an orbital assembly machine that takes metal rods and makes trusses in space, for some reason. If you’re already sending up metal rods, you could just send up the frames.

How they turn some metal girders into space habitats, I have no idea.

Zron,

Loss prevention can, random cashiers cannot.

Fuck em anyway, I pay for my shit and unless it’s a real cop who might shoot me if I twitch funny, I ain’t stopping for shit.

If they don’t want to pay for cashiers, they can deal with people stealing shit. Walmart especially is a corp on welfare, they have the most employees receiving food stamps and Medicaid than any other company. I don’t really care if the government subsidized megacorp loses money every year, they aren’t providing worthwhile jobs anyway.

Zron,

Burning trees gave humans warmth in the cold and later, valuable carbon for making hotter fires to work metals.

Why would a computer need living batteries when it could just build a nuclear reactor and have steady energy for practically forever. Nuclear power also doesn’t need huge swaths of maintained farmland to feed it, and complicated sewer systems to dispose of the waste.

Even if an AI wanted to be green for some reason, it would be way more efficient to just have huge fields of solar panels. Remember, biological beings get their energy second or third hand, and practically all energy in the ecosystem comes from the sun. Plants take energy from the sun, and convert a fraction of that into sugars. An animal eats those plants and converts some of those plant sugars into energy. Another animal might eat the first animal and convert some of those converted sugars into energy. Humans can either eat the plants or the animals for energy.

If something wanted to use humans for energy, they’d be getting solar energy from plants that have been eaten and partially used by a human body. It would be like having a solar panel hooked up to a heater that boils water to turn a turbine that charges a battery that you use to power what you need. It would be way more sensible to just hook up the solar panel to what you wanted to power.

Zron,

There’s plenty of cases where they don’t look for cars either.

Or the cops themselves just straight up steal the car themselves.

My wife’s car was ordered to be towed by, according to the impound lot, the police.

Neat thing was that there was no ticket with the car, no police station within 3 miles had a record of a ticket for her or the car, and the area she had parked had no signs that suggested it was illegal to park where she did, nor does the city have any ordinance about overnight parking.

Best we can figure, is a cop or the tow company that works with the city, just decided to tow a car for funsies and the 500 bucks it took to get it out of impound.

The police and every organization associated with them are corrupt to the core.

Zron,

Since you seem to have issues understanding things like basics thermodynamics and physics, I’ll break it down in short sentences.

Candle make little heat that go away into air, take long time to raise temperature of room. Long time means candle likely left alone for long time.

Blanket keep your little heat close to body, keep you warmer than candle will.

Candle balanced on tower of pots and bricks. Candle not likely to fall, pots and bricks very likely to get bumped by idiot trying to use candle to heat entire room during emergency. Idiot might be asleep when they bump candle. Or idiot human might have idiot cat that want to play with shiny glowy candle. Now idiot die in fire cause big fire use all the air and make a lot of smoke.

Zron,

Doesn’t matter. A candle puts out about 80 btu. 4 candles is about 320 btu.

For comparison, an average human puts out 350 btu by just existing.

So this will warm up a room about as much as having another person sit in there with you.

You also now have the added risk of having a bunch of open flames balanced on pots in your room.

Don’t do this, buy a space blanket for 5 dollars and keep it in in your nightstand if you’re that worried about freezing to death in your home.

Zron,

Until all 3 of you die because you accidentally started an uncontrolled fire while you’re already in an emergency.

2 people and 2 space blankets have just as good odds as surviving the cold than 2 people and some candles. Without needing to worry about fire.

A candle is going to heat up the area around it and dissipate that heat. The blanket will simply keep that 350 btu that you produce every hour much closer to your body, and stop you from freezing to death.

Zron,

Your heat pump will definitely do it, it’ll just take a long time.

The 20 degree figure everyone is throwing around is actually supposed to be the difference between the return air temperature and the supply air inside your home

If you have 80 degree air in your house, 60 degree air should be coming out of your vents. Once the 60 degree air has cooled down the house to 70 degrees or so, 50 degree air should be coming out of your vents. And that’s about the theoretical limit for home air conditioning, as anything lower means the cooling coil is below freezing and will get damaged by ice, there’s usually a safety switch that prevents things from getting too cold.

Now the outside coil needs to be hotter than the surrounding air to actually push that heat out of the coil and cool off. Most places around me are designed for a 95 degree summer day, so will have a refrigerant temperature of about 120 degrees, in order to move that heat. Your compressor needs to be able to compress the refrigerant from your cooling coil until it’s about 30 degrees F hotter than the outside air. The hotter it is outside, the harder it is on the compressor. But it will eventually do it if you let it run long enough. Whether or not you want to pay for all that electricity is another thing entirely.

Zron,

Considering the active ingredients seem to be listed in bold, I think it’s safe to assume that it was just simpler to use all caps for one part of the label and lower case on the other half.

GRS probably stands for grains. A grain in 1/7000th of a pound, so these is actually not that much per serving. Unless this is using British Imperial Units, which are different from American standard Units. If it’s British imperial, I don’t know how much this is meant to mean.
