You mean Vanguard, which was announced but isn’t actually in the game yet. Their plan is to add it late February or early March. We don’t actually know any details about the implementation except that it won’t be used in the macOS version.

Weird. I’ve had a Pi-Hole + Unbound running on a Pi Zero since 2018 and it’s never had any issues. I expected the Zero to kinda suck but it has been nothing but smooth sailing. It gets USB power from my router and even if my router reboots the Pi also auto reboots itself.

I do next to no maintenance on it and it just keeps on chugging along. Maybe once every six months or so I SSH in and do a pihole -up and that’s it.

Arch and EndeavourOS are the same thing. There is no functional difference between using one or the other. They both use pacman and have the same repos.

Maybe I’ll just fade away and not have to face CSS

I have been using the same Arch installation for about 8 years. The initial installation/configuration is the only time consuming part. Actual day-to-day usage is extremely easy.

Maybe this is no longer the case but I previously used Ubuntu and it was actually much more annoying in comparison, especially when upgrading between major revisions or needing to track down sources/PPAs for packages not in the main repos. Or just when you want something more up-to-date than what they’re currently shipping.

The rolling release model + the AUR saves so much time and prevents a lot of headaches.

You’re overestimating the power of a PS5. Its GPU is roughly around an RX 6600XT which can be found for ~$200. You could build a full system with it for around $600 and you’d break even in just over 2 years.

Wanting to improve my Linux skills after 17 months of daily driving Linux

I’ve been daily driving Linux for 17 months now (currently on Linux Mint). I have got very comfortable with basic commands and many just works distros (such as Linux Mint, or Pop!_OS) with apt as the package manager. I’ve tried Debian as a distro to try to challenge myself, but have always ran into issues. On my PC, I could...

Same here. Been going on 8 years with the same install and it has never let me down. The only time something “breaks” is when I’m the one who caused it, and it’s always been easily fixable with arch-chroot from the iso. Although I haven’t even had to resort to that in 3 or 4 years now.

Louis Rossman/FUTO's YouTube app, GrayJay, now supports Sponsorblock... and shames you if you use it

Seriously this was very surprising. I’ve been experimenting with GrayJay since it was announced and I largely think it’s a pretty sweet app. I know there are concerns over how it isn’t “true open source” but it’s a hell of a lot more open than ReVanced. Plus, I like the general design and philosophy of the app....

I think you guys are just discussing semantics. Revanced as a project is the patches themselves, so Revanced is open source. But a YouTube app patched with the Revanced patches is not.

When was the last time you tried it? Up until recently I have had issues but I’ve been using it for the last few days and it feels good now. All of the problems I had with it the last few times I’ve tried it (drag and drop not working, copy-paste being weird, fractional scaling) have seemingly been fixed.

There are at least 20 different options to choose from, surely one of them has what you want. And that number is only going to rise. Saying it never will is extremely short-sighted.

Websites to download cracked software for Windows?

Yes, I have looked in the megathread. Specifically under the sections “All Purpose”, “Tools”, and “Software”… however, I didn’t find any general, all purpose websites for cracked software. Or at least, the megathread never had something in it that said “great website for cracked software”....

It’s not FOSS but what about Bitwig? I only have surface-level knowledge of DAWs but it seems comparable to FL or Ableton.

You can use Windows VSTs with Yabridge. This site also lists other FOSS plugins that might be able to replace most of what you need except for the more specific and/or niche ones.

I would be worried about finding drop bears up there.
