For example, I used to follow a lot of subreddits for individual YouTube content creators, however, Lemmy doesn’t really have the size or culture to support this currently.
Cacti/succulents and wine (the fermented grape juice one, not the linux one). There are cactus and succulent communities in Lemmy, but they’re not very active, and wine ones are completely dead…
Location firm Near describes itself as “The World’s Largest Dataset of People’s Behavior in the Real-World,” with data representing “1.6B people across 44 countries.” Mobilewalla boasts “40+ Countries, 1.9B+ Devices, 50B Mobile Signals Daily, 5+ Years of Data.” X-Mode’s website claims its data covers “25%+ of...
And that’s why location is always off on all my devices, and gets turned on only when I want to search for something nearby or use navigation. Then it goes back off until the next time I need it.
Hi everyone. I have found many ghost comments in posts. Like one of the posts has 300+ upvotes and 28 comments but when I opened it, there were no comments. I tried different Lemmy apps and it’s the same in all of them. Which leads me to believe that it has something to do with defederation done by Lemmy.ml. Which instance has...
Last Lemmy version had federation issues - the current one (0.19.2) supposedly fixed them. New threads should be populating correctly now, maybe give it a couple of days and check again?
If you do want to switch, the instance I’m on only blocks pornlemmy.com, ds9.lemmy.ml, voyager.lemmy.ml and enterprise.lemmy.ml: reddthat.com/instances
I tried a couple, but I always go back to just using the web interface through Firefox. It has all the features I need, no extra ads, trackers or permissions, and is pretty comfortable to use. Then again, I don’t moderate any communities and I’m not a very prolific poster, so my needs are pretty basic.
The ability to control the temperature (and perhaps humidity and/or composition too) of air within 1mm of my body. Like a personal air conditioner. Would make going outside right now so much more bearable, pretty sure it would help with sleep too… Sigh, one can dream…
Is there anything you’d like to talk about or share but haven’t found a place to do so? What communities (or “subreddits” for all Reddit refugees) would you like to see?...
My local subreddit, but it will sadly never happen, because the overwhelming majority of users there simply don't care about whatever spez or reddit is doing - they didn't even do the 48h blackout, just complete apathy. Oh well, I'll miss it, but not enough to actually go back there, so it's all good.
What is a niche interest or hobby you'd personally like to see represented more on Lemmy

Lemmy instance which has not defederated with any other instance.

Favorite Lemmy Client
What is your favorite client for Lemmy?
If you could have one small thing as a superpower. What would it be and why?
I mean small like I sneeze and a 20 dollar bill appears in my hand or something like that. Not classic answers like flying or super strength.
What communities ("subreddits") would you like to see?
