If the instance I started my community on shuts down, then the whole community is gone. Is there anything I can do as a mod to prepare for this so I can transfer everything onto a new instance? Or is everything lost if my instance shuts down?
This is 100% it. Also some people have only ever used iOS with the Reddit app and Twitter and Tiktok which are so easy to use a literal 3 year old can use it

On average if I make a post on Mastodon whether I get a comment, and a continued conversation is either hit or miss....
