Not me but I have a friend that got married like two years ago now to someone she met on tinder like two or three years prior to that. Apparently, the first date she asked if he was going to kill her if she went in his car.
My other friend is now living with a guy she met on tinder two years ago. He is still saved on my phone as [His name](in case he kills [friend]) from when they went on their first date and she sent me his info in case anything happened.
I’d say that’s some success for relationships and maybe for not getting killed also.
Personally, most of my life has been both difficult and unpleasant due to mental health issues (and capitalism), so I’m just proud of myself for still being here.
Ok so I have a super unserious one compared to everyone here but I am legit really proud of myself for it.
I have pretty bad trypophobia where I will have a pretty extreme visceral reaction to many different holes, patterns of them, etc. This includes nail holes in the wall so I have a hard time putting things up and especially taking things down. When I moved places a few years ago I tried to face this extremely irrational fear and made myself fill every single nail hole in our old apartment. I felt so ill and honestly still feel ill even typing this out. I had to lay down on the floor in the dark apartment for what felt like hours because I was so nauseous. But I did it. Never fucking doing it again, but I did it and nobody can take that from me. This year I even put up two frames all by myself.
I agree the internet is a cruel place but it’s also an extremely human response to react to tragedy with comedy. If the comic didn’t strike a chord with people in a very real way, I’m not sure people would still be finding ways to laugh at it. I mean, look at how many people cope with/joke about depression through memes. I don’t think it’s meant to be cruel, it’s just a natural human reaction to hardship and the reason it’s still around is because people do, in fact, give a very sad fuck.
I mean, Lean as a methodology is meant to improve efficiency so it makes sense that they’d want to follow those principles, but the issue is (at least in my business) that people don’t actually know or understand those principles so they’re not followed well and it does just turn into random buzzwords.
In theory, project management and the push for efficiency through certain (what might seem like useless) planning measures actually does make for a smoother, better work environment. In reality, very few people understand any of it and worry more about instant results and ignore long-term plans, making any discussion of the topics totally irrelevant and useless.

What difficult/unpleasant experience are you most proud of yourself for making it through?

Which internet meme, if somehow erased from ever emerging, might have the biggest impact?
Is there a fundamental internet meme that has had such a major impact that it would have notable repercussions if it had somehow disappeared?
