We have a number of suggestions for communities that welcome support questions in our sidebar.

With that said, we do already have a post outlining why support questions don’t belong in this community: lemmy.ml/post/1223478

Because this isn’t an open question, I will remove it now.

We actually do have a similar post that is pinned - however, it doesn’t federate to all instances correctly due to a known issue.

I want to take a crash course in Fediverse. I was browsing stuff on Mastadon and voila! I found these communities on Mastadon but I wasn’t able to post anything, but I was however able to reply to stuff. I don’t know how this works. I don’t follow. The rules for this community clearly state that it isn’t meant for support. There are plenty of other communities that are focused on support. Why should people subscribed to this community be expected to answer support questions if they don’t want to? That’s the whole point of different communities with different rules.
