20k just for the cost of the vehicle, probably MORE, plus extra insurance, gas tax cost all to save 50$ once in a while on a truck rental.
Not to mention that a pickup is basically half a completely useless car. You can’t sit in the back, you can’t really use it for hauling delicate stuff… It’s just such a bizzare concept for non farmers.

Buying a new car, right now, as somone who’s actively looking and keeping up with the market… There really aren’t good cars for a reasonable price. A lot of new cars have been enshitified.
Lemmy needs to get rid of edit if you edit within 1 min. Often you’ll see a typo after you post and you have to edit. There should be a grace period like reddit.
