because the private company should create as much profit for the owners as possible - it has to be as lean / efficient as possible.

Yeah but no. It would be if the owner/shareholders weren’t skimming of the top. The process may be lean but the pricing is designed to maximize and take as much as the market will bear. Which undoes the benefit the efficiency could bring to a public service.

Oh man. It’s the only one where they actually don’t boldly go anywhere. I’ve always had trouble with that and probably actually need therapy because of it. It took me a long time to even accept it as real star trek.

What is good to eat when you have no appetite?

I am super sick right now and haven’t eaten much in a few days. It’s getting to the point where I am gonna need to force myself to eat something to keep my strength up but everything just sounds terrible to me right now. I have been subsisting mostly on small glasses of milk and the occasional packet of instant oatmeal....

Get some liquid IV powder. It is full of electrolytes and minerals and easy on your stomach. The last time I was in your shoes I did it for two days straight and it kept me going even at work. With that or get some Pedialyte, is not as good in my opinion, but will do similar things for you.

As I near 50 my plan if I ever have to date again is just to wear a pin with my age and “single” on it and if anyone wants to know more they can ask.

Got something similar on my fire stick the other day. It said it could help me get back to the shows I love watching faster if I turn on the new feature that shares all the data from the different apps directly with Amazon.

The only options were yes and ask later. I had to go to settings to find and turn it off.

Yeah, but that old technology is what still lets me run a 13 year old version of Adobe creative suite. If that ever changes I will have to learn something new!

what we’re being asked to do is suffer alongside without being able to alleviate the suffering.

I know that isn’t actually what people think they are asking for, but it sure feels like it so often.

If feel like us guys are at a disadvantage here. All our lives were are told not to complain unless we bring a solution, not to cry, get up, keep moving.

Then suddenly the thought pattern we have been trained on all our lives turns out to not be healthy for supporting others and it’s a hard transition to make when we want so desperately to help and are asked not to.

Not saying it’s wrong, just hard.

As much as I hate the rich, I don’t think they don’t have problems or stress, it’s just a different selection of problems and stress.

They can still have relationship issues, family members die, diarrhea.

All the -isms boil down to “preconceived notions about the group” as opposed to being about individuals. These notions can be positive OR negative.

So saying that Asians are good at math… Is also racist.

Just saying that you are white isn’t racist, describing you further wouldn’t be racist, but saying that any of that was because of your race would be.
