The low end Roomba is simple to repair. There are lots of YouTube videos you can watch about disassembly and gearbox cleaning. The battery is easy to replace as well. The only bad thing about its design is it’s made from plastic. In eight years or so you might need to replace the brush cage or a similar part. Plastic loses its flexibility and gets brittle over time, so some parts like this might split or crack.
Affordable Care Act is a mixed bag. It brings insurance to the masses, but insurance is a rip off for the most part. ACA is very half baked without providing a Medicare plan buy in (public option) or forcing everyone to purchase their insurance from the exchange to increase benefits and drive prices down.
Personally I wish we just had universal healthcare/Medicare for all in the US. Hopefully I live long enough to see it.
Groceries were still doing this into the early ‘90s, but it wasn’t free anymore. It was just earning a discount on an encyclopedia volume every week.
They also used to give away silverware sets a piece at a time. You could also get dishrags or drinking glasses in boxes of powdered detergent. And then there were S&H green stamps.
We have similar freebies now, but it’s “join our loyalty points program and earn” or credit card points. Kohls cash, gas discounts, etc.
Used EV batteries as power packs tied to the grid. Some neighborhoods are already getting these. They also work well as backup power when the grid goes down.
I would disagree that most of the live action is related to the animated series. The one most related (Ahsoka) bombed.
I’d like to know who steered Obi Wan into the rewrite with “baby leia”. Basically turning it into a Mandalorian season one clone. And who fucked up Boba Fett by adding the neon kiddie scooter gang and Mandalorian in the second half. The first half of the season was a beautiful slow burn, but the latter half was horrible.
