I’m cognizant that there may be fewer years ahead of us than behind us with him still in the house.
I’m feeling that more and more. I love that my guys are getting more independent, and we’re having deeper conversations. But I know our time is limited. It’s bittersweet.
For me, there were several dollar store trinkets that already broke, and one toy for my kids that was a huge sparkly styrofoam mess waiting to happen, so I threw it out rather than curse anyone else with it.
I only vacuum/sweep when the drifts of dust and hair become tripping hazards. A $300ish iRobot does a crappy job, but it runs regularly. I just need to empty the bin once every few days.
I’ve never had a Facebook account or any other social media. I know they keep shadow profiles, but I’ve never given permission. I never had any interest and frankly still don’t....
It sounds like Facebook tracks non-registered users as well, so everything you’re saying remains true for everyone who doesn’t have a pretty strong security posture.
If OP isn’t blocking third party cookies, FB scripts, and piholing unwanted requests, they might as well join the platform and get the tenuous benefits it provides.
I wore a Utilikilt for a while. They’re surprisingly uncomfortable. Sitting in a kilt requires effort. The material is a heavy denim, which is hot and doesn’t fall nicely. I expected the breeze to be enjoyable. It’s not.
Tbf Bill Murray’s character had infinite iterations. Like, there are probably a bunch where he was just lying in bed, a few where he murdered the entire town, a few where he rolled around in his own feces.
I’m glad I’m not the only person who stands half naked in a dark kitchen eating shredded cheese directly from the bag while staring at my phone and hoping nobody sees me.
Zero chill factor. Every post has to have a dissertation under it explaining how its problematic. Reddit/Twitter reposts that make you nod your head in agreement get mindlessly upvoted. Even communities that should be more off-color get relegated to the most normie shit possible. Lemmy feels homogenous as fuck. /rant
I’d like to believe that’s because we’ve defederated from the edgelord/shitposting instances, but they probably never existed. It would be kind of cool if there was a mirror Fediverse that was filled with conservative, pro-crypto, religious, Windows users.
It’s shameful that Canadians don’t pay more attention to the news. I’m pretty sure our collective knowledge of current events halved when Facebook stopped carrying news.
I bet the average Canadian couldn’t even find the Neutral Zone on a map.
So, who or what ruined Christmas this year?
What gifts that you received for Christmas this year are already in the trash?
