sbv,

I’m cognizant that there may be fewer years ahead of us than behind us with him still in the house.

I’m feeling that more and more. I love that my guys are getting more independent, and we’re having deeper conversations. But I know our time is limited. It’s bittersweet.

sbv,

there were several dollar store trinkets that already broke,

My kids got two or three items each that promptly broke. Into the garbage they go.

I hate the dollar store so much. It’s a waste of money and an environmental train wreck.

sbv,

I only vacuum/sweep when the drifts of dust and hair become tripping hazards. A $300ish iRobot does a crappy job, but it runs regularly. I just need to empty the bin once every few days.

It works pretty well for me.

sbv,

It sounds like Facebook tracks non-registered users as well, so everything you’re saying remains true for everyone who doesn’t have a pretty strong security posture.

If OP isn’t blocking third party cookies, FB scripts, and piholing unwanted requests, they might as well join the platform and get the tenuous benefits it provides.

sbv,

I wore a Utilikilt for a while. They’re surprisingly uncomfortable. Sitting in a kilt requires effort. The material is a heavy denim, which is hot and doesn’t fall nicely. I expected the breeze to be enjoyable. It’s not.

The pockets are good.

What about French philosophers named Princess?

sbv,

I’m disappointed your story didn’t have a “never” but it’s very sweet. Congratulations, and I’m glad you don’t bail.

sbv,

That’s where I get stuck.

Tbf Bill Murray’s character had infinite iterations. Like, there are probably a bunch where he was just lying in bed, a few where he murdered the entire town, a few where he rolled around in his own feces.

sbv,

Humans hadn’t been invented yet. Best it could do is flip you the mammal.

sbv,

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

sbv,

I’ve got a good feeling about 2009 2010 2011 2019 2020 2023 2024

(tbf I had a good feeling about Corel’s java on Linux back in 1998ish too)

sbv,

I’m glad I’m not the only person who stands half naked in a dark kitchen eating shredded cheese directly from the bag while staring at my phone and hoping nobody sees me.

sbv,

haha mark zuckerburg you creepy fuck look at me LOOK AT ME

sbv,

It was in one of the AI communities yesterday.

Lemmy: fails the vibe check (lemmy.zip)

Zero chill factor. Every post has to have a dissertation under it explaining how its problematic. Reddit/Twitter reposts that make you nod your head in agreement get mindlessly upvoted. Even communities that should be more off-color get relegated to the most normie shit possible. Lemmy feels homogenous as fuck. /rant

sbv,

The Lemmy hivemind is pretty set.

I’d like to believe that’s because we’ve defederated from the edgelord/shitposting instances, but they probably never existed. It would be kind of cool if there was a mirror Fediverse that was filled with conservative, pro-crypto, religious, Windows users.

Either way. I appreciate your posts.

sbv,

It’s shameful that Canadians don’t pay more attention to the news. I’m pretty sure our collective knowledge of current events halved when Facebook stopped carrying news.

I bet the average Canadian couldn’t even find the Neutral Zone on a map.
