terminhell,

Finally. Was something I’ve missed when I was using other distros with kde.

mememamus, to memes
terminhell,

Legit chuckled

terminhell,

To devils advocate a little in general with this topic: For wider spread adoption, Linux kinda needs to adopt around more standards. If you put yourself in the shoes of the average windows or Mac (even iOS/Android) user; it’s an overall standardized experience.

Linux now, is mostly a choice of DE and package manager. I still absolutely want distros like arch and Gentoo to still exists as they are.

terminhell,

Generally I’ll see it used for POS type machines, or relegated to a backend database that gets logged into for parts lookup or something. Have I seen Jimbo in accounting rocking Gentoo on the company PC. Never.

I’ve ran across a few professors at nearby colleges using it. Last I remember was a nuclear physicists prof using opensuse.

terminhell,

I have a sister in law like the extrovert. I’ve watched her within a matter of minutes, go from talking to a stranger, to now they’re babysitting for her next weekend levels of charisma.

terminhell,

XD it won’t be there soon anyways. Luckily it’s also a separate drive.

terminhell,

Look at the kernel version selected

terminhell,

Oh ya? Awesome. Mind sharing what it’s about

terminhell,

Welcome to the dark side XD

Also, don’t forget to take a look at time shift or w/e it’s called. It’s a tool that creates btrfs system snapshots. It creates them when most updates are installed, and you can make em manually too. Really good if you start setting custom kernel stuff or w/e. Allows easy rollbacks from grub menu.

Fedora or, the ProtonGE guys spin Naburo (spelling?) Is also a good choice.

terminhell,

Just give it a go. I used it for years, and had relatively little issues tbh. Most of them I think are hardware related as I’ll have similar issues in other distros and even windows.

The devs have done some goofs yes. Things like letting certs expire, and as mentioned already, potential issues with aur. But, I remember having aur issues even with vanilla arch in the past.

Using fedora currently though, and I don’t think I’ll switch anytime soon.

terminhell,

I think this might be too 40k obscure for the masses XD

terminhell,

I had an unusual lesson from my parents regarding bullies. They told me, that if they found out that the I didn’t even try defending myself from bullies and found out, I’d still get whooped at home. It seems kinda cruel at surface level. But when the time ultimately came, dam straight I fought back tooth and nail. And no, they were not abusive in any way. Even reflecting back as an almost 40yr old adult. They were both prison guards/swat people. So they had a very different perspective of bullying I guess.

terminhell,

In some situations, unfortunately yes. Some schools will take the stupid “zero tolerance” stance so broadly. I do remember a few times growing up that the bullied kid would still get suspended(if they were lucky, at reduced length vs the bully, if enough evidence was available).

Often times (as should be) you’re better off fighting back cuz both are gonna get in trouble.

terminhell,

Not to be pedantic, but wouldn’t it need to be a 180? 360 would put them right back in the same spot XD

terminhell,

This is the method I use for password generation. Pure entropy. Probably quantum proof too /s

terminhell,

Another issue is that windows will eventually force a reboot on you with pending updates. You can postpone it for a while, but eventually you’ll be in the middle of something and it will just do it anyways.

terminhell,

To this day, I still don’t understand what takes windows updates so dam long. Not sure about Mac, but Linux takes, what, 5 minutes at most if you’ve gone a while.

terminhell,

I’ve done both.

Imo it ends up being cyclical. It starts on the top left, but ends in bottom right.

terminhell,

It does do something though, it paste directly from the latest info from the clipboard XD. So, if you highlight something, then middle click somewhere else(not just a browser, basically system wide) it will paste what ya highlighted.

terminhell,

This might be the case, but something about hot black coffee on a cold morning. The aroma itself is just awakening. I do love hot non caffeinated tea at night though.

terminhell,

Wait, your actually playing the game? I thought adding mods and sorting load order is the game.
