Will private messages ever be displayed in a threaded or grouped manner?

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the current web interface is just a reverse chronological list of all sent and received messages. This can be confusing to follow if one is messaging multiple users over an extended period of time. I think the ability to group messages by user would be useful.

Where is the best place to propose new features for Lemmy?

Edit: And as potential follow-up, where is the best place on Lemmy to propose new features for Lemmy? (Not every Lemmy user has or wants a GitHub account)

I can’t believe no one has posted the xkcd writeup on the International Choice of Urinal Protocol (ICUP) in this thread yet.

threelonmusketeers,

I love Hobbes’ obvious glee in the final panel.

threelonmusketeers,

I wonder if Watterson has seen the Hobbes and Bacon strips, and if so, whether his response is positive, negative, mixed, or neutral. Given his elusive nature, we may never know…

For a 24-slot centrifuge, 5 pairs and 1 triple will balance 13 tubes, as is described in the comment you replied to.

Here’s a video that also explains it: The Centrifuge Problem - Numberphile

threelonmusketeers,

Oyakodon: “parent-and-child donburi”

threelonmusketeers,

sourdough

yeast colony

Bacterial colony, no?

Also, you kill only half of them each time. For the sourdough starter, it’s like a Thanos-snap coin-flip everytime you bake bread. The bacteria in your current sourdough starter come from a long line of statistically lucky ancestors.

I suppose that’s kind of true for all of us, though…

threelonmusketeers,

“I can’t survive above 38.0 C for very long as well.”

OP must be weak. I had a fever above 38.0 °C for over a week once. Finally went to the hospital and my fever was gone by the time I arrived. Our bodies do some weird sh*t sometimes.

threelonmusketeers,

If they go in the tube

Aren’t they attracted to carbon dioxide? They would go in the tube.

The “S0S” makes me more uncomfortable than it should…

Edit: My discomfort does not stem from the mere concept of an SOS button; It’s more subtle than that. If “SOS” stands for “save our souls”, does “S0S” stand for “save zero souls”?

threelonmusketeers,

Just wait until those same weird hairless apes with back issues learn how how to harness a particular mixture of charcoal, brimstone, and poop crystals.

threelonmusketeers,

What in the wide world of fuck is the Lemmy Tagginator, and more importantly, why?

is this something we need here?

From what I understand, the bot serves no immediate purpose or function for Lemmy users, but it helps strengthen ties to other parts of the fediverse (like Mastodon).

I’m personally indifferent to the bot.

Here’s a shorter link without tracking: youtu.be/TIy3n2b7V9k

I am a human, and this action was performed manually.

threelonmusketeers,

When infected with Wolbachia, the mosquitoes are much less likely to transmit diseases such as dengue and Zika, because the bacteria compete with these viruses. The insects also pass the bacteria on to their offspring. Researchers hope that the modified mosquitoes will interbreed with the wild population wherever they are released, and that the number of mosquitoes with Wolbachia will eventually surpass that of mosquitoes without it.

I was not familiar with this method. Seems like a neat idea.

threelonmusketeers,

No, that’s ‘Palpatine’. You’re thinking of fast or irregular beatings of the heart.
