xilliah,

Now imagine a rapist taking over your country.

xilliah,

Literally all I had to do to make my phone have a usable performance again was to set the region to France, and the language to English. I should add that it was totally fine before an update.

🚴‍♀️At this point you must transform into a car 🚙

Cryptographers Just Got Closer to Enabling Fully Private Internet Searches (www.wired.com)

" three researchers have crafted a long-sought version of private information retrieval and extended it to build a more general privacy strategy. The work, which received a Best Paper Award in June 2023 at the annual Symposium on Theory of Computing, topples a major theoretical barrier on the way to a truly private search."

xilliah,

Well perhaps a selection? You don’t need the data set for crotcheting or perl coding if that’s not up your alley.

xilliah,

Ah ok so we’re talking perfect safety here

xilliah,

It’s an interesting debate isn’t it? Does AI transform something free into something that’s not? Or does it simply study the code?

xilliah,

Can you link it please? I’d like to inform myself.

xilliah,

One time I went to this unit of a store and the lady was unfamiliar with werner herzog. Not even in their system.

xilliah,

Don’t judge them they were still figuring things out.

xilliah,

👋🏻🌼

xilliah,

Huyyy I looks like you’re bitching about your family in your diary. Do you need help with that?

xilliah,

I’m interested in something like that too but lack experience with it.

I’m wondering how you balance between letting things flow organically and sometimes forcing communication. Because I really value the former, but I feel extra communication might be required for poly.

Why are redditors like this?

I made a post on r/civ (Civilization games subreddit) showing a really funky shaped randomly generated river I saw and most comments were fine but one guy was convinced that I went through the comparatively monumental effort of opening the map editor and changing the river for karma, as opposed to just starting the game and...

xilliah,

Reddit close to 4chan and the like for being totally anonymous, so there’s simply no consequences to being an asshat. There’s just too many people there and relationships don’t matter.

Privacy Practices in public registries for developers

Okay, it may sound like a personal issue, but I disagree with the privacy practices in developer tools. And I’m not talking about VSCode issue, but about other more elemental development tools. For example, the privacy policy of npmjs.com, pkg.go.dev (Google’s privacy policy lol), hub.docker.com, and these public registries...

xilliah,

Well I didn’t accept it and will purchase another headset.

For my work I use different accounts. But I know some developers wouldn’t accept it for their work either. They only use foss. But ya you need enough leverage and the right market.

xilliah, (edited )

Well slightly different topic but I have to accept that damn Google ‘privacy’ thing to be able to develop for the vr headset that I paid for. We really need stronger laws to handle these practices.

xilliah,

And my life

xilliah,

Hey what’s the bandaid on the turtle for?

xilliah, (edited )

Can I have her number? Then we can see if she rings ☎️

xilliah,

Same size here actually. And I’ve invested in isolating it, so you could add that to the cost too. But that’s just a relatively small issue compared to all the others there. I just had to get out.

In fact today I felt like I was hit by a truck. Slept most of the day and couldn’t concentrate at all. All that stuff you pretend that doesn’t bother you, it catches up. But only because I’m safe here now, and so I can let it.

Thanks for your kindness.

xilliah,

Well I’ve had a smartphone since 2012, just to try it. Honestly I don’t feel it has added quality to my life. Having specialized devices such as a camera, GPS, mp3 player and so on is actually more convenient and not more expensive. For example a GPS has a longer and more reliable battery life.

xilliah,

No at some point they become uselessly slow or won’t receive necessary updates. Like even some dumb chat app requires a ton of resources. And I’ve also had an iPhone that worked just fine until there was an update. After that it wasn’t practical to use any more and I switched back to android.

I’ve had 4. And I’ve used each one until it was completely useless.

I bought 2 of those 4 for my work. I do vr/ar and some clients require ar on the phone or tablet. And I needed one of them when I had an Airbnb, because you need the app for that. The again you can replace that with android running on a pi or sum.
