I live in the middle of nowhere in Europe and all is true except the outside picture and the fact that there isn’t anything to walk to (except if you want to take a 20km hike trough a forest to get to the city, and then do another 20km back)
Yup, can say that firefox is quite a bit slower on android (but honestly it’s still quite ok, unless it decides to loop loading the page, or it bugs out in another way, at least on my phone it’s quite prone to breaking, for comparison brave is really a bit faster than Firefox
Also not only that, but the ability to let me choose if I want to open a link in an app or not, happens countless times with stuff like GitHub automatically wanting to redirect to the app (which sucks)
I’m a newbie, used a derivative of Ubuntu (xubuntu) since my computer is slow and old as fuck, it ended up somehow breaking my pc into only booting the drive with the Linux install on it and refuse to boot anything else not even live USBs (putting back in my windows drive just shows “success Ubuntu” in the top left corner)
If you think it’s bios related please tell me, because I tried to mess with every damn setting related to this (I didn’t try resetting the CMOS but I doubt it will do anything)
If anything it probably made me hate Ubuntu based distros in general (couldn’t try anything else because the pc is fucked)

Lol, for me it was similar, I had a few things I didn’t like about lemm.ee so I ditched my account there and went here by accident (well just by searchimg and it fulfilling all my needs and a ton more things), ended up liking this instance a ton so it became my daily driver
Well first they support file uploads, second I feel like everyone I ever met from this instance was nice to everyone (sure that can be because it’s smaller but it also has less controversies (i.e. what the dude I was replying to, the lemmy.world blocking us) due to the overall nature of this instance)

I installed Linux a few weeks ago and it was on Tuesday I wanted to add some programs I had installed (it was mGBA and melonDS) to my steam launcher, I went through the hassle of making a . desktop file for both of them (I was dumb and used a Ubuntu based distro, so it installed as a snap, which sucks hard on a hdd) and then it wouldn’t launch, I searched up again (I was using chatGPT for all of this, I asked it a lot how to do stuff, it’s like this was it’s purpose beacuse it always worked first try), did the chmod x+ command and then I was done
