hawdini, in They finally did it: Reddit made it impossible for blind Redditors to moderate their own sub - r/Blind
@hawdini@kbin.social avatar

Just waiting for Reddit to say the mods aren't doing a good job and replace them, ironically, with fully-sighted mods.

tchambers, in Just created m/TwitterMigration
@tchambers@kbin.social avatar

Glad to see this new Magazing getting formed.

Jrussell, in The Reddit moderators who coordinate many celebrity AMAs will no longer do so

Good for the mod team. If Reddit is going to take away the only functional tools that make the volunteer work possible, Reddit can pay for moderators to come in and do it.

Haus, in now that i don't have a reddit account, i guess i can tell you guys about secret communities
@Haus@kbin.social avatar

Iirc, you got an invite to Eternity Club if you posted something that hit #1 on r/all/top. Most active topic was Selfie Sunday.

NotAPenguin, in r/pics calls out spez' history as jailbait moderator, a former sub dedicated to actual CP. the post hit the front page with 15k karma in 4h, then got removed earlier today

Don't think he actually was a mod for it, you used to be able to just add people as mods without them having to accept.

Fuck spez anyways of course.

Kill_joy,
@Kill_joy@kbin.social avatar

Eh... If I logged on to my Workplace account (Facebook for corporations) and saw that I was made moderator of a Jailbait community would I:

A) Do nothing for years

Or

B) Immediately remove myself and investigate that community to see if additional action needs to be taken

🤔

hairyscotsman, in My Reddit GDPR Request took 20 days, this is what it looks like

I edited and deleted all my posts and comments, yet a google search will show all my comments and posts still there. If I edit and delete the posts from the post page it works, but I did it through my profile and it only hid my comments and didn’t even apply the edits…. Kinda frustrated and have no resolution with Reddit. Waiting to see if my comments are still there in my gpdr request.

TheEntity,

This is not how it works. Google has its own copy, possibly a stale one. Nothing Reddit can do about it. As much as I'd love to blame it on Reddit (or Google for that matter), this is just a search engine working as intended.

hairyscotsman,

No, this is not google cache. This is the same article on Reddit.com.

There were also:

  • Golden Club
  • Supreme Club
  • Centennial Club
  • Platinum Club
  • Apex Club
  • Pinnacle Club
  • 500k Club

Don’t have their descriptions anymore since I logged off of RIF but they were all variations of the same sort of thing

original2,

yep. Tbh the only one i’ve ever found interesting is controvertial club. The rest are very empty and generic

a-man-from-earth, in So IAMA is practically dead...
@a-man-from-earth@kbin.social avatar

They are still moderating the place, albeit at much lower level, to generate content for spez.

Elkaki123,

Yes, but the sub will definitely go down in quality, and it’s one of the biggest. They will do the bare minimum, not even requiring previous verification.

At least for me its kind of insane and a lot more meaningful that all the subs that only went private 2 days and then nothing else (those that kept private are the real goats of course)

victron, (edited ) in 3rd party app for Reddit, Boost, is still functioning well after July 1st
@victron@kbin.social avatar

Hell yeah! For the past 2 days I was wondering why it kept working! I've been watching some po.... posts in Boost, for... research purposes.

kosure, in 3rd party app for Reddit, Boost, is still functioning well after July 1st
@kosure@kbin.social avatar

Same with Relay... I checked it to see what the dead so would look like and all the genetic frontage posts loaded in... It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Beanmaster,

The author of relay put out a post saying that it'll keep going for free while he decides what the subscription model is going to look like - it's the top post in the sub ATM.

Was surprised with that choice, but it doesn't change anything - not using it anymore regardless

saltmaster420, in sub.rehab · Find your next diving spot

Sounds silly but anyone got a list of NSFW ones?

punkideas,

I'd check out lemmynsfw.com, that seems to be where NSFW content is aggregating.

Uh... Addendum... Why TF is RIF suddenly working again?

I can't log in, but I can see unauthed content

Cal, in RIP RIF
@Cal@kbin.social avatar

Weird. RIF still works here.

Are you still logged in?
It still works as read only, after logging out.

Cal,
@Cal@kbin.social avatar

Not logged in. Seems to be only read mode.

anteaters, in The Reddit moderators who coordinate many celebrity AMAs will no longer do so

Good to see that there are some mods who are not completely addicted to that little bit of power spez allowed them.

Dark3stWhite, in When all posts in my home feed for Lemmy have over 1000 upvotes, it'll surpass all the other Reddit alternatives I've seen, and I'll know for sure that the Fediverse is the way to go.
@Dark3stWhite@lemmy.world avatar

Personally, I care less about the number of upvotes and more about have a steady stream of new content.

I have been sorting by new now because if not I see the same posts on both Active and Hot. We will get there though!
