if you can find Miso Paste, or even instant Miso anywhere, that's usually one of my go to's. I'd stick to white miso cuz its more bland than awase or red miso. Just put like a tablespoon in a mug and put hot (not boiling) water over it and stir. It's yummy and got salt which might help you absorb water better and save off dehydration. Depending on where you live, you might find miso paste in the refrigerated section of the supermarket
Pair that with a hard boiled egg for a bit of protien and thats usually what I do.
While you can go for a period without many calories, you will need electrolytes. The recommendations for things like Pedialyte will help with that, but for foods you may just have to try what works for you. It's so personal.
Stay hydrated and "salted" and go from there. If you can't keep it down then it isn't for you. Salty foods will help you retain water.
In every community I see this. There are always folks trying to narrow the community to some cut and dry descriptors—which for them are always obvious.
Sometimes the jab is perhaps intended as a joke. But to my reading it’s always a trope, namely the tired fallacy of taking a part as the whole.
Either way, it’s myopic. In any internet community, we’re always bound to narrowly see what’s happening. Because:
We can only see the posters, never the lurkers—which far exceed the former;
Posters, by virtue of taking the time to post, are most often than not highly opinionated;
Our reading is always selective. We’re either misguided by the way the comments are sorted, by our mood at the moment, by chance, or simply because we’re really bad at reading;
Our reading is always biased. Either by our mood, our current situation in life, our upbringing, our milieu, whatever;
the list goes on and on and on.
This results in a very reductive view that, although very teasing because very personal and idiosyncratic, is ultimately an exercise in futility. To those already biased, it simply supplies them with fodder to confirm what they already believed.
From afar, it’s just noise. Any view on what the community is is but a poor reflection of what the community ultimately is.
My wife and friends think I am nuts, but when I’m feeling digestively challenged I go for the “burn it out” philosophy. I go to my local tex-mex place and wolf a couple bowls of spicy salsa. Follow up with a chile relleno covered in queso and I’m normally right as rain (after a quick stop in the quiet, tiled room of requirement).
I did have a regular watch back in highschool, and all it gave was the time and date. Now that I can look at my phone or my computer screen, it would be of little benefit.
My smartwatch comes with a step counter, which gives a little goal for every day. Plus it shows notifications from my phone. It makes it so much more comfortable that I don’t have to pull my phone out for every single notification. Just having a look at my watch, and I know if it’s important or not.
Fasting can actually help recovery. But no matter if you eat what you can or nothing at all it is absolutely necessary to get enough water, salt, and potassium.
Something that might go down easy is plain canned beans, just make sure to drain and rinse them and maybe even soak them a little to minimize intestinal issues. Plain quinoa or lentils made in a rice cooker or pot with just water and salt could also be good.
Sometimes your hear about the BRAT diet. I’d recommend against it, it is very nutritionally poor so it will not give you much energy if you can only handle eating a little.
I don’t get why is farting in front of others THE sign of a great relatioinship? I’ve been thogether with my SO for 4 years and we still don’t do that, out of respect, I suppose.
Because people need to fart. Being able to do it in front of your SO means you are comfortable with each other that much and personally it just means I can be me. There’s no barriers and both of us can just relax.
Honestly a good smoothie from somewhere is all I can get down when I’m feeling like that. Filling for about an hour or two though but pack with vitamins and goodness.
