LegionEris, in What are some good (and free) webcomics?

East Coast Its isn’t any kind of serialized or contiguous, but it is free and great. On the opposite end of the spectrum, here’s a free unofficial translation of One Punch Man, which is highly serialized and contiguous.

Aceticon, (edited ) in Why wasn't NYC's Central Park concept copied by other cities?

Of the top of my head (because I lived there) - Berlin has Tiergarten and London has Hyde Park. The latter is so so in size but the former is quite large.

Thinking further, I remembered that Paris has the Champ de Mars (surrounding the Eiffel Tower), which is about Hyde Park size.

Also plenty of cities have large forested areas that merge with the city proper and are not too far from the center, such as for example Grouse Mountain on the north side of Vancouver and Monsanto on the west side of Lisbon.

Notice how even the cities in Europe were space has been at a premium for a lot longer than in the Americas do at times have a big centrally located park.

Phegan,

Vancouver has Stanley Park right in the city too

Aceticon,

Well, I’ve only visited for a few days and I like hiking so naturally I only had eyes for Grouse Mountain … ;)

Atomic, in Gamers who have gamed for a long time

Play whatever you enjoy. Maybe you feel like you don’t have the time to sit down and invest yourself in a story die to other commitments like work or family. That’s normal.

It’s your free time. Gaming should be a fun hobby, not a chore.

Wish more games would have a “I have not played this in a month and need a quick recap” mode.

redeyejedi, in What are some good (and free) webcomics?

Penny Arcade has been around forever so they have a deep backlog of gaming/nerd culture related comics.

FMT99,

Kind of peaked in the mid 2000s though.

Idk man the updates to games I’ve played for years get me very excited.

Playing other games? Why though.

birdvox, in What are some good (and free) webcomics?

Digger by Ursula Vernon has been around for a while but it’s my favourite.

To go a different style, 8bit theater and adventurers are a blast if you like the RPG parody style

Adding to this: Order of the Stick. Starts as RPG parody, becomes a serious adventure with comedic tones. Currently on the final arc.

Sorry op, your inner child is dead. Time for sudoku in a rocking chair.

RememberTheApollo_,

You might be right. Except I don’t like sudoku.

PainInTheAES,

Sorry OP, your inner grandparent is dead. Time for seppuku.

RememberTheApollo_,

sysadmin420,

Had to Google that one… Funny shit. Thanks, I needed it.

Nemo, in What are some good (and free) webcomics?

Astral Aves sort of stopped updating a while back, but what there is of it is absolutely amazing.

blargerer, in What are some good (and free) webcomics?

Can I sell you on web novels instead? Worm and The Wandering Inn are a decent starting point.

SheDiceToday,

Worm is great! Somehow, I started with the first few chapters of someone else’s fan-fic set in the worm-verse, and later found Worm. I was so incredibly confused for a while on what was real (by the original author) and what was the fiction.
