I have a vague memory of Texas having a unique status, versus the other States, when it comes to succeeding from the Union. That there is some kind of (state?) constitutional clause that would actually allow them to succeed if they wanted to. Has something to do with the fact that they were their own country for a very small period of time, before joining the Union. Can’t remember any details though, was something I read a long time ago; apologies.
