Santa paws the fox?

The world would be a better place if that’s what “watching fox all day” meant.

glimse, in Is it weekend yet?

If I won the lottery I’d go around offering to donate a million dollars to animal sanctuaries if they let me pet the animals. I’ll sign waivers, whatever it takes. Fennec foxes would be my first stop

What a fox.

Norgur, in Lucky fox

Holy shit that's a beautiful animal. Is this real?

ickplant,
@ickplant@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, they are called cross foxes or melanistic foxes. This is a particularly beautiful specimen, they don’t always have that bright red coloring. Gorgeous animals!

qyron, in Look at that tail!

Very bushy.

Maiznieks, in Look at that tail!

Wow, such a beautiful horse

It meows like a cat with an extremely sore throat. Some call it a bark, but it absolutely is not.

ObviouslyNotBanana,
@ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world avatar

It’s more like a scream of terror

remotelove,
@remotelove@lemmy.ca avatar

Yeah, not going to lie. The first time I heard one in the woods at night, it scared the shit out of me.

Is calling it a “meow with extreme vigor” a good compromise? Probably not and you are likey more accurate.

ObviouslyNotBanana,
@ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world avatar

Tbf in the woods even the squirrels are scary. Damn loud little pine cone throwing bastards.

TheFriendlyDickhead,

Someone has a history with squirrels.

ObviouslyNotBanana,
@ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world avatar

Damned squirrels

I once went camping by myself (I’m a woman), and I thought someone was about to break into my tent to murder me. Nope, it was a beaver dragging branches nearby at night. Haven’t gone camping by myself since.

arandomthought,

So the answer to “what does the fox say” is actually “screams of absolute terror”? I think that would have improved the song.

remotelove,
@remotelove@lemmy.ca avatar

Yeah. That would be accurate.

This is a decent example (he wasn’t fully committed, me thinks): youtube.com/shorts/vSHbYgibL9M?si=LEvooLKAerz1axs…

isn’t the opposite? it look more like a cat them dog

ickplant,
@ickplant@lemmy.world avatar

I think it’s based on the fact that it’s a canine, thus dog hardware. But I don’t disagree with you.

Eevuljeeneuss,

The opposite is a hyena. They are dog software running on cat hardware.
