I legitimately credit Compiz and CCSM for kick-starting my obsession with FOSS and probably doubling or more my salary by getting me on Linux earlier in life.
Yeah I agree. It was rolled out pretty early in its development maturity so it undoubtedly left a bad taste in some people’s mouths. Overall it’s a net positive though. I don’t want to go back to the old way.
Publishers who do this make shit games anyway. I see the publishers slowly fading while indie studios continue to shape the new standard of video games.
The idea of a console where the manufacturer doesn’t have total control over the OS is ludicrous, no way a Windows box is ever going to “kill” the deck
