scytale, in How Cinematherapy Helped Me Through a Midlife Crisis

I misread the headline as “cinematography” and imagined they were watching a bunch of Roger Deakins films.

😏

TheRealKuni, in As someone who was NOT impressed with OPPENHEIMER, this made me laugh... 😏

I guess I’m not sure why it’s supposed to be funny.

But I thoroughly enjoyed it and saw it twice in 70mm IMAX, so maybe I’m not the target audience. 😅

@wilberfan@lemmy.world avatar

No, you definitely were NOT the target audience–but I was. That’s why I enjoyed it so much… 😏

TheRealKuni,

I mean, I enjoyed this! It just didn’t make me laugh! 😂

9cpluss, in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - Poor Things - Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe - Dir. by Yorgos Lanthimos

I watched it at movie festival a month or so ago and I very much enjoyed it.

I had not seen any of the other movies by the director so I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever.

Emma Stone did an amazing job.

Gregorech, in Index of Review Websites / media

Sometimes I just use Wikipedia to get a lost of yearly movie releases. No reviews but a nice detail of a simple list.

Also don’t forget IMDB they have reviews, summaries and show other websites review scales.

turkelton,

I do that too sometimes, also on IMDb when I f.I. search for “comedies with a 7-9 rating between 1970 and 1990” - found a lot of films like that.

That’s precisely why I love curated platforms though, because I don’t have to go “though the weeds”.

Vengefu1Tuna, in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - The Boy and the Heron - Soma Santoki (Luca Padovan), Masaki Suda (Rabert Pattinson), Takuya Kimura (Christian Bale) - Dir. by Hayao Miyazaki

Wow, there’s some big names in the English voice cast.

scytale, in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - Poor Things - Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe - Dir. by Yorgos Lanthimos

Oh I didn’t know it’s already out. I think I only saw one teaser in the last few months. Love me some Yorgos. I’ll watch this asap and update this comment with my review.

Anticorp, in Jean-Claude Van Damme To Star In ‘Kill ‘Em All 2’; Filming Set For January In Antigua As Part Of New Deal With Producer Andrea Iervolino

He seems to be a genuinely happy person. He’s so much fun to watch.

glimse, in Jean-Claude Van Damme To Star In ‘Kill ‘Em All 2’; Filming Set For January In Antigua As Part Of New Deal With Producer Andrea Iervolino

He’s 63 and looks like he’s in his early 50s. Good for him!

MeanEYE, in We have seen 20 minutes of 'Dune II' with Villeneuve and we have good news: the expectation is more than justified
@MeanEYE@lemmy.world avatar

When it comes to Hollywood expecting anything is a mistake, other than pandering. That one is a given these days.

norske, in Eli Roth Reveals That He'd Like to Direct More 'Hostel' and 'Cabin Fever' Movies

And I’ll reveal how much I don’t care what a rapist wants to do.
