Seems kind of complicated to me. Why don’t countries just unilaterally put tarriffs on imports from countries with (corporate) income taxes that are too low, as well as countries that don’t also have similar tariffs?
Global tax is complicated. A reprisal tariff regime would be way way way more complicated. The US doesn’t want to be in a position where it’s levying 50% tariffs on Guinness because Ireland’s corporate tax rate is 12.5%. How do you know that tariff is fair and would the WTO even recognize uneven tax rates as a sanctionable offense?
“If you have an outcome-based approach and you do not reach the goals, then you have to apply additional measures […] whereas now you say okay, I tried, but unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the way I wanted to,” Paulus explained.
Politicians and producers love good ideas that will attract the public’s attention, but should be tweaked just enough to not be executed as intended.
LOL, OK, let's say that a camera could be mistaken for a gun/rifle/nuke. Would the same apply to a phone? Because I cannot read something placed 10 meters away from me, and I still would distinguish a phone from a weapon.
You do not know what solder saw. But I am still insisting this can not be rifle shot. If anyone ever was near shooting rifle, they would know it is much louder.
To back that up I’ve seen a few videos of IDF shooting with suppressors, on videos it can sound like a click, from the sound of this video though I’m not sure it’s even suppressed.
“I know nothing about Thing In Video but I will choose to vehemently insist this can’t be Thing It Obviously Is, also it’s fine they shot at a civilian with no regard for rules of engagement anyway.”
I have seen enough shooting videos to say that this is not true. The sound even using phone should be much louder. Not as lows as in real life, but loud and echo should be heard for quite some time.
You are clearly here solely to defend the IDF, this is a wasted effort in this space. Why do you want to put so much effort into excusing a murderous apartheid state?
The IDF will likely try to claim that they thought she was a sniper, but if that were true they wouldn’t be standing around in the middle of the street before they shot.
You can read the words of the event, but like you said watching their behavior says everything. It’s like US police claiming they feared for their life. They casually stand there, like any other day at work, and attempt to murder a young girl, and probably joked about it after.
I know this looks hopeless. But the entire humanity isn’t responsible for the mess the world is in. In fact, the vast majority of humans are innocent beings who don’t intend any harm on other humans or the nature.
It’s just a tiny percentage that’s the problem - an extremely greedy and sociopathic minority. Making the entire human race disappear is not going to work, since these vermin will find a way to sacrifice all the innocent ones, save themselves and take all the resources for themselves (exactly like in this news story). The only reason there is some sanity is because the good people fight back. And that’s the only option we have.
We pay them. It’s not the other way around. We feed them what they need to do this.
We trade humanity for a false sense of security under gang nations that work for world dominance.
We are the problem too. If you pay tax than you’ve paid someone to murder for you.
I’ve seen street life it’s the same thing.
If people won’t protect themselves then they will always be submissive to warlords that get paid for exactly the hell we see. It’s profit, it’s career. Same as gang life.
Doesn’t even matter anyway… It’s already done and dead. There’s no more escaping what humanity’s apathy made.
Will this finally make people accept that environmentalism is not some hippy-dippy rich people idea but a question of survival for our species? Unfortunately I’m not optimistic.
Probably not, or at least to the people who could make a difference.
The life long suffering and consequences of pollution this brings to people - This is a horrible situation. I’m honestly surprised there’s not better reporting of the people dying from this.
I remember the smoke from the Canadian fires. I couldn’t go outside (not that inside was better) and there was no getting a workout in without inducing burning in my lungs.
