Has anyone come across/know about a Keygen for resetting the waste tank lockout on Epson Ecotank printers? I’d also accept a firmware update to override the lockout.
Paying $10+ every couple months to continue using a printer that’s already paid for is absolutely bonkers.
I’m willing to do my own sleuthing, but if anyone is willing or able to share any leads I’d love the head start.
How much do you print to reset that counter so often?

Resetting the waste tank counter without actually replacing the sponges means a disaster is coming. On my Epson ecotank 2650 the waste ink spilled all over the table even before hitting the counter, resetting it multiple times is insane.
And replacing the tank is something that requires at least 4 hours because of the 1000 hidden screws and the puzzle-like construction
And good luck finding the right sponge
If you print that often you should sell it on eBay and buy another one with an user replaceable waste tank like the Epson workforce series or the ecotank 7700
Alternatively, when my ecotank 2650 spilled the waste ink on the table, the official support charged me 30 euro to open the printer and replace the waste pad, which if you think about it’s not too much expensive as it requires a whole day of disassembling for an inexperienced user, plus $10 on shady sites for the secret disassemble manual and another $10 for the reset key
I don’t have a link but a look around seems to indicate you want to “aquire” the Epson maintenance software which will let you reset the counter yourself. Someone one on Reddit found it but was only replying via PM with the link.
