Orgzly Revived deleted every list/note app I tried.

Heavy plus. Especially due to the fact, that the app stores notes/todos as a plain human-readable text (org-mode format), no proprietary formats or vendor-lock to the app.

JustJack23,

That comment led me on the wildest journey of org-mode discovery that you can imagine 🤣

I’ve been preparing to make the leap to Vikunja in an effort to go self hosted. I can’t tell you how it is yet, but it may be worth looking into.

I had a similar need and settled on tasks.org. Depending on your needs, this may not fit. It’s more of a Google/Microsoft tasks replacement. It’s been really nice for my needs.

JustJack23, (edited )

In what format are tasks saved?

Edit: after a bit of poking around I can see that the exports at least are json.

Father_Redbeard,
@Father_Redbeard@lemmy.ml avatar

Yeah, I’m not sure TBH. I have it sync with my Nextcloud instance. Within the web browser it shows up in the Nextcloud Tasks app

It’d be helpful to learn more about your requirements. Does it need to be open source? Any must-have features? Native apps? Etc.

for a second i thought that said parents

socphoenix,

I wouldn’t doubt overbearing parents would fit on that list quite nicely too

I use LibreWolf and maximum protection just for FB and similar web pages, and Firefox for normal browsing or other safe sites and my problem is solved.

Well. That doesn’t solve this problem. But thank you.

I for one will be ready to do my civic duty and walk around randomly making stabbing and punching gestures (aimed at friends who've agreed to it) while holding a banana or some other vegetable that might more closely resemble a knife, should such a system ever threaten this part of the world. After all, I have nothing to hide.

Hilarious how people in US see themselves as some vibrant democracy that should lead the world.

Nobody gives a shit about this.

Now take away their Coors light and hotdogs and see what happens.

kerrypacker,

You don’t even need to take them away, just get a trans person to hold one.
