I'm looking for email providers that don't require a phone number to use with reddit

I’m not ready to drop reddit entirely and to create accounts there I need an email address. I don’t want to disclose my phone number or any other personal information.

I tried i2p, but for whatever reason, mail from reddit doesn’t get its way to the inbox.

What other providers could I use?

akilou,

Use an alias either through Proton, simple login (which Proton bought), or Mozilla

rockSlayer,

Reddit didn’t used to force email, try just clicking next. Otherwise you could use one of the dozens of “10 minute email” services.

Maybe Firefox Relay is an idea? Generate a random mask that you give to reddit and it forwards to your actual email address. Then you can block any further emails.

Artyom,

Or a duck duck go email, which is pretty much the same thing

PineRune,

I don’t use it myself, but I believe Proton (or Proton Mail?) doesn’t require any additional info. At least back when I checked it out before. There’s also mail.com, as well as a plethora of pros & cons lists for email providers out there to google (with add blockers).

Deckweiss,

can confirm, I am using it and paying for it because I like the features

Proton does have a free tier with limited features, too. Which might be sufficient for OP if all they want is an account for reddit junk.

Gooey0210,

If you’re paying by your bank card you basically provide them with your id, and phone number, and everything else

Same with crypto if you don’t buy it the right way

AProfessional,

Proton has a free tier.

Proton freebie account doesn’t have a phone number requirement to sign up. They do say they sometimes require “human verification”. Idk what that means and didn’t have to provide any identifying information to open an account.

Account recovery is a separate question. If you lose access and want some backup option to verify via a separate email account, obviously the alt email address would have to be provided to use that feature.
