I have a very short equipment rack installed in my server closet. It is only 16 inches deep, fine for most networking uses, but not great for most rack-mount server cases....

After a very enlightening discussion in a previous thread, I decided to plunge into a mesh type network to connect my various servers and devices....

n00b question, sorry. If I had a desktop that could hold 4 HD and 2 SSD, could I turn it into a NAS? Could someone point me in the right direction if this makes sense?

I tried earlier today and I had no luck actually getting an instance running...

I am not a networking expert, so please forgive any poor or unclear terminology here . . ....

TLDR: If you were building a NAS for 8 HDDs and 1 SSD today, what case would you use?...
