Hi everyone. I’m on the verge of building a new NAS/Media server, and wanted to check here to see if any of you could provide some recommendations based on my goals (below) or your current builds. I currently have a Raspberry Pi 4 running some basic services (Portainer, Home Assistant, Plex, sonarr/radarr/prowlarr, sabnzbd,...
I work in tech and am constantly finding solutions to problems, often on other people’s tech blogs, that I think “I should write that down somewhere” and, well, I want to actually start doing that, but I don’t want to pay someone else to host it....
Just wanted to share my happiness....
Hey folks,...
Hello!...
Hello! This might not be the right community but I’m looking at building a new server and you operate in similar areas and might have experience with this. I’ve got a GPU without video outputs, can I combine that with a CPU without integrated graphics and still get video output from the HDMI located on the motherboard?
Hey fellow Selfhosters! I need some help, I think, and searching isn’t yielding what I’m hoping for....
I found this its the cheapest 10TB Exos drive on Newegg and looking to buy 4 of them. I will be putting them in my NAS that I use for my media library and pc backups. The price I’m posting this is $130, I’m also looking similar Exos drives that are $250 is there a difference? Should I shell up for the more expensive drives?
Hello! I’m currently in the process of seting up an instance (for personal use, testing some stuff). I ran into this issue and while I did find some threads about it, they were not conected to Lemmy and I don’t have any ideas how to solve it myself. For context -> i’m trying to set up the instance on a remote device,...
Simply put, I can’t get Audiobookshelf to respond to any port other than 80. I’m using the following Docker Compose (spacing may be off because I suck at formatting posts):...
Hey Guys,...
I am not a networking expert, so please forgive any poor or unclear terminology here . . ....
Elevating Performance and Flexibility...
I have a very short equipment rack installed in my server closet. It is only 16 inches deep, fine for most networking uses, but not great for most rack-mount server cases....
After a very enlightening discussion in a previous thread, I decided to plunge into a mesh type network to connect my various servers and devices....
n00b question, sorry. If I had a desktop that could hold 4 HD and 2 SSD, could I turn it into a NAS? Could someone point me in the right direction if this makes sense?
I tried earlier today and I had no luck actually getting an instance running...
Simple as that, I have a few GPUs hanging around and I want to build a GPU node for my kubernetes cluster. I already have one, GPUs are attached and it can do cool things like transcoding plex easy enough, but I’m starting to look to the horizon for my next big projects....
TLDR: If you were building a NAS for 8 HDDs and 1 SSD today, what case would you use?...
First, I would like to thank this community for being an understanding, open-minded and Novice friendly like myself. I have learned a lot in the past few weeks thanks to this community, unlike Reddit’s toxic communities where asking a question is illegal....
I’m trying to figure out how to host one myself. I’m trying to use barvarder and localai. But I am failing due to not enough knowledge and missing instructions. Any advice? did someone succeed with anything? I’d be happy to make other smaller steps at first as well. As long as I get somewhere.
I recently was gifted a raspberry pi 5 and was looking at domains to buy to host my own instance. What happens to my instance if the domain expires?...
This is way above my head but I figured people here would find this interesting
