Flag of The Republic of Biak-na-Bato

The flag was red and depicted a white sun with a face. The sun had eight rays, representing the eight provinces that Spain had placed under martial law.

The Republic of Biak-na-Bato was the first ever republic ever declared in the Philippines. It was formed by The Katipunan which was a Philippine revolutionary society founded in 1892.

The republic, formed in 1897, only lasted for a month.
