What happened to the PC games (or what happened to consoles)?

I got out of video game piracy for a while, but I’m coming back. One thing I have been absolutely SHOCKED by is how finding PC game torrents is actually kind of difficult from my normal sources. Now it’d be one thing if I just wasn’t seeing games, but for some reason Playstation and Switch have far more uploaders and...

000999,

Many countries have lax, unenforced or altogether nonexistent copyright laws. Even some EU member states as far as I know don’t require VPN usage for piracy

Apart from private trackers, rutracker seems to be the best for lossless movies in 1080p. Big selection of blueray remuxes/rips which are often missing from the other public indexers, likely because causal users prefer 2gb files to >20gb.

Money is just small sheets of intricately designed paper or plastic. Imagine how easy it was to make counterfeits back in the days before all the technology came in

What VPN do you use and why?

If you are a pirate VPN is an essential tool. I am trying to ascertain the popularity of various VPNs in piracy community. In this excerise, I will list several Popular VPNs in the comment if you use one of them just upvote that comment and reply the reason. If you don’t find your VPN listed add a comment with just their name....

The airvpn client feels pretty outdated compared to something like mullvad. This might not be a big deal for everyone and there are ways around it but I always see airvpn recommended but noone ever mentions this

Brazil Regulator Claims "80% of Pirate TV Boxes" Were Blocked Last Week * TorrentFreak (torrentfreak.com)

Brazil’s telecoms regulator Anatel claims that during an operation last week, it successfully blocked around 80% of pirate ‘TV boxes’ in the country. Estimates from early 2023 suggest that seven million were active in Brazil. The operation, claimed to be the most significant ever carried out, arrives just weeks after...

000999,

generally speaking people who buy preconfigured IPTV systems aren’t able to do it themselves, hence paying money for someone else to do it.

000999,

I always wonder why lots of the people I interact IRL with seem a bit off. This post reminded me of the exact reason

000999,

but do run scripts that have been verified by reputable sources

I know this is not how dbzer0 works, but can you help me get cs 1.6 working on my linux system ? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I downloaded the game from soft32 (this file used to work on the old days). I installed both WINE and Lutris, but the game runs like sh**t. I get .NET and Vulkan errors from Lutris&WINE. Can you give me a newbie friendly guide for the right way? I’m tired of scrapping the web and it doesn’t help that I have limited data....

000999,

Some of the community servers are still running on the legacy CSGO thing

000999,

If the only reason you want to use soulseek is to save money, then paying for a VPN wouldn’t work out that much cheaper than Spotify premium as far as I’m aware. As you are appear rather paranoid, perhaps a modded Spotify frontend would be best.

However, a VPN isn’t really necessary for soulseek as it is ptp.

But, I would actually (obviously) recommended switching to soulseek as that allows you to build your own library of lossless audio files, which then of course involves spending large sums of money on high capacity drives but is a fun hobby to have.
