I’m currently installing Puppy Linux on an old computer, and everything is working fine, the resolution of the boot selections were looking ok, but the moment Puppy Linux boots the GUI, this happens!!! And I tried resizing from the GRUB terminal but it doesn’t work, please help me, thank you!!

Xenia wouldn't suggest that :c (lemmy.world)

please don’t harrass or insult that website, but I recently browsed that website because I wanted to get a wallpaper, but then I realized the top bar was saying “Xenia suggests you get Firefox”, wait what?? She wouldn’t suggest that first of all, second, this means that the website knows if you are using Google or...

I know everything about the current status of open source, I’ve read about Richard Stallman, about how he dislikes the word open source, but what we need to understand is that all software can be nice, nya!! And it’s ok I forgive you meow.

Xenia would work at Google developing chromeOS and would be happy Linux finally became mainstream and widely used!!

how similar are other North American countries to USA??

I mean the other 2 countries, Canada and Mexico, how similar are both of them to United States?? Both countries have a similar economy and democracy etc, and I think those two countries share things like supermarkets, stores, etc. I suppose the cultural differences are not a lot, that is very nice.

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

yes of course!! I was talking about the two countries that surround United States!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

so for example, Ontario is similar to Oklahoma and Coahuila is similar to Texas, that would be a new point of view!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

woa Mexico has those things too of course!! It’s interesting, I guess the country in the middle (USA) is really different, and all of those things must be universal, otherwise most people will have their lives shorten drastically which is very bad!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

wait but what culture am I then meow?? Wait what if I want to be american but I’m not yet?? Can I identify as semi american or something similar meow?? I just really like the US, they make the best software!! I love Mexico of course too but I think Mexico is americanized to a certain degree meow which to be honest makes it hard to separate its friendship with USA, despite what people say meow!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

I know but Oklahoma gives me that vibe, it sounds like a Canadian place, I love Oklahoma of course.

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

you’re correct!! I love those countries, there are beautiful people in any country and we don’t need stereotypes, I would love to visit United States someday, at least I’m used to a semi-american experience because there are plenty of american supermarkets, restaurants, etc, here. Plus I know english woa!! Also I was fortunate enough to being born in Mexico because there is HEB here. And americans only have it on Texas, take care and treat people alright!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

no, why?? Nya!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

Coahuila is Albuquerque lite??

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

and I’d say Mexico is the USA with a ~1 delay!!

@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

you’re right, maybe it’s a proprietary operating system… Maybe in the car manual the license for the Linux kernel can be found?? Oh that would be my dream!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

do they severly dislike Linux and open source?? Oh no…

100% vanilla distribution challenge

what does this consist of? Well, it’s easy, whenever you install a new distribution of Linux, don’t customise anything, nothing please!! Out of the box experience, you may install software but that’s all. And if you are already using a customised distro, then delete the .config file and reboot, but please be careful and...

web/low memory alternatives to Krita and GIMP please

recently I bought a Chromebook, I love it so much, it has Linux container enabled and I downloaded Firefox, GIMP, and Krita, but my Chromebook is only 64GB, so that can be a lot!!! So what web apps or low storage alternatives can I use?? I know Photopea, but what about drawing? Thank you!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

wait but there is one thing that I need to know!! The “Magma” version of Aggie gives you a commercial license, does that mean that the free version of Aggie will not let you do that?? So that means no commissions or selling your art?? Oh no!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

the Linux terminal of chromeOS is a virtual machine but it does affect chromeOS, as in everything that gets downloaded from the terminal will show up as applications of course!!

01adrianrdgz,
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

I disagree with that!! SD card fix for Chromebook!! Nya!

01adrianrdgz, (edited )
@01adrianrdgz@lemmy.world avatar

because I changed my mind on that, I’m very sorry!! It can be harmful to install through the terminal nya… Also I think it takes more memory and space if I install it like that, that’s why I installed Firefox with the Debian package yes!!
