Gotcha, Sue.

Rapid City, North South Dakota, for those that were curious.

I guess they needed something to promote some sort of tourism? IDK.

Edit: I’m clearly not awake enough. I read that the top poster would fight to retake the monument during an alien invasion multiple times before I posted this comment, and finally realized it read foreign invasion.

What color is your favorite flavor?

AngryCommieKender, to memes in These blueberries are getting expensive!

I’m terribly sorry to inform you that it seems that we will be getting an even more complete extra extended edition for the 25th anniversary, at least that’s what Peter Jackson seems to be indicating in the commentary of the old extended edition.

The book is a good read, though The Two Towers drags a bit. I do wonder for people that saw the movies first, if you’ll be as offended as a certain subsection of the fandom that just cannot understand why they didn’t do a line by line recreation of the book. (Spoiler, it wouldn’t have translated to film very well.)

AngryCommieKender, to piracy in Z-Library Blog: "Unprecedented seizure of our domains with books on rare languages"

Nah. All police boil down to the state having an exclusive right to enforce their whims with violence, and protecting the oppressive class, by using violence on the oppressed. I’ve yet to see a country where this isn’t the case. The US cops are just better armed than most other cops, so they make the news for their state sanctioned crimes more often.

Way more shit is done with prison labor in the US. I guarantee. We have 25% of the prison population of the world, and the USSR had a tendency to send a massive amount of their prisoners to Siberia, which would make it difficult to help build apartment blocks several thousand miles away.

AngryCommieKender, to science_memes in I dunno, still might be aliens with this one.

They are, but they spend most of their time in the water, so they aren’t supporting their own weight.

Every once in a while one of them forgets they aren’t top of the food chain, and attempts to fight an elephant. That goes poorly for the hippo.

AngryCommieKender, to memes in It's almost like a zombie movie for them

I think you meant the FDA? The Americans with Disabilities Act doesn’t really regulate farms.

Well if the homeless are off the streets, then the turtles and rats can come back out of the sewers. Go rant at Splinter

AngryCommieKender, to piracy in I had no idea that you could download movies from the 90ies from archive.org

I think I remember an interview where Keanu openly states that The Crow, and a few other classics were the inspiration for JW. Mission Impossible, and The Boondock Saints would also be candidates.

First time I’ve seen someone called a nerd for gun knowledge. Lol.

AngryCommieKender, to asklemmy in What are some modern bullshit jobs?

That’s basically all Gordon Ramsay did on Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell. The only time I can remember that it wasn’t because the owners or management weren’t listening to their workers, the problem was a 21 year old kid that BS’ed his way into a head chef position, who had no business being a head chef. The episode ended with the kid being fired, cause he couldn’t manage to maintain a clean kitchen.

AngryCommieKender, to memes in Every day we stray further from God's light.

That’s the cheapest and worst version of the dish. Splurge a little. Get Velveeta shells and cheese.

Or make a cheese sauce, cook some decent macaroni, and stick it in the oven with some bread crumbs on top. Much better that way

AngryCommieKender, to memes in Stereotypes are wrong and bad

They are a lot of pressure. They are the same pressure I put on myself, so yeah. Not many people push themselves the way I do, so not many people would even want to live my lifestyle. Especially as it isn’t very rewarding in a material sense.
