Part of me feels like it's the subreddits fault. There should've been rules against articles/tweets that aren't timestamped. Specifically for reason of ensuring relevance
This was definitely a thing long before the blackout
PC for most games, but I also use it for most things in general
Steamdeck for any mid-tier games that can run on it well, or games that i'll be playing while also doing other things. Also for portability
Switch for better portability if the quality will be more or less the same, since it's lighter, smaller, and doesn't heat up much/at all. But also pretty much strictly for portability. If I plan to use it on a screen i'll use steamdeck.
I had to block one of the meme's communities for now because there were times where one person would post 4 different memes within seconds of each other, they would all get upvoted, and now a 4th of the page are memes
Not that I dislike memes, but it was happening for most of the day. It did convince me to specialize my subscribed list a bit more though.
Without a date or any way to source the comment, it could be something from 2-3 years ago.
Obviously it's not in this case, but it's a very real issue on reddit (in fact there was a post recently) of people debating topics that were being reposted by bots from several years ago. Basically it lets people dredge up old, already talked about topics without bringing any recent relevance to the topic.
I think my favorite thing about Lemmy is that it feels like Reddit used to. Less negativity, more engaged users (I think). I know it will be fun to watch Reddit die, but if I put spite aside what I’m really mad at Reddit about is more about what Reddit became and maybe part of that is when the general internet user started...
Not really. I feel like it's not healthy for any community if all the people you don't like aren't there to offer their viewpoint. The more you build an echo chamber with no dissenting opinions, the more extreme it becomes and the less it's able to deal with things that clash with it's ideals. The less it's involved with things that clash with it's ideals.
-This does not include groups with completely bad faith arguments that are clearly racist bigots.
I feel like unless we're talking about supernatural AI the only answer is A&B
Otherwise the box has no real way of knowing what you would've picked, so it's complete RNG.
If there was a realistic way that it could make that decision i'd choose only B, but otherwise it just doesn't make sense.
edit: I also didn't realize until after I read it that box A always has the million dollars. So there's actually no reason to pick only box B in this scenario. The paradox only makes sense if box A is significantly less than box B. It's supposed to be a gambling problem but A&B is completely safe with the changes made.
I wonder if all this malicious compliance is also gonna screw with all that AI research people were interested in doing, if all the topics have essentially shifted....

What gaming console / platform do you prefer?
I’ve gone from PC to Xbox 360 to Nintendo Switch and very excited about the recent addition of a Steam Deck. Curious what y’all gaming on?
