Is there a forum for people who are lonely and sad but specifically not incel sickos?

like you know you’re a good person at heart but life circumstances and trauma and bullying and etc prevented you from learning the proper social skills to find companionship. not necessarily a forum to actually find friends (i find going into things with that intention feels fake and weird), but rather a forum to commiserate...

Apytele,

I was trying to make a dbt server but I can’t figure out something with the domain name to get federated properly.

US residents: What big domestic policy improvements have the american people won from congress in the last 30 years? (kbin.social)

Interpret improvements as you like. For me it's any large scale reforms or legislative packages designed to improve the country for all or see to the material interests of the majority without overly benefiting the elite....

Apytele,

One time my parents tried to tell me they shouldn’t have to pay for insulin for “fat people” and the nurse educator in me went on a fifteen minute rant about how insulin dependent diabetics are actually the ones who get it genetically in childhood and finished the rant by asking why they’re advocating for the deaths of impoverished children. Not that fat people deserve to die or be sick either but come ON if you’re not willing to do the research yourself then just listen to what the experts say? Everybody in America these days wants to do 0 research and just walk out into the world to convince people that lavender oil will cure their cancer.

Apytele, (edited )

Yeah but when you’re arguing with your conservative parents and you happen to have been dealt the “for the children” card, you play that one at every opportunity. I’ve had much more luck with the argument that punishing people they view as morally inferior often results in harming innocents which is absolutely true and the reason punitive justice is (imo) morally wrong. It’s the same reason I don’t believe in the death penalty; if you find out a guy is completely innocent of some terrible crime he’s in the middle of serving a life sentence for, you can give him his missing salary and let him go, but you can’t bring him back to life.

Apytele,

I’ve traveled with my intellectually disabled sister before. If you’re traveling with anyone with a major disability of any kind but similar severity, I highly recommend you pack disposable gloves and wet wipes, and possibly a small emergency snack (especially if they have diabetes, my sister will just beat the shit out of you if she gets too hungry, some people might die or some shit).

Apytele,

The message to me was just that sometimes you have to sing and dance to entertain the people who have power over you. That doesn’t make the situation right, but I’ve gotten a lot more done since that realization.

Apytele,

bruh you need to train more on the pushups and pullups and spend less time in your routine on practicing fuck ups!

given how little one vote matter, it seems to me that stripping felons of their right to vote is both petty and counterproductive if the point was to reform them into civic minded individuals ?

Also, seems kind of scary that this implies a future where so many people are in prison that their vote could actually tip the balance ?

I'm being harassed by mosquitoes, how do i kill them all?

To my knowledge there’s no stagnant water on my property, I’ve run water through all my ptraps, and I’m careful to not leave doors open. Yet at any given time there’s at least 3 in my house. I can’t sleep, i can’t sit on the couch, i can’t exist in the fear of being sucked dry....
