BassTurd,

Marrying an accountant was the best financial move I’ve ever made.

Linux distribution for gaming and media centre.

Heya! I’m looking to install Linux for the first time on parts from my old pc builds to use as a media centre and multiplayer gaming system in my living room. Something with as clean as possible interface with room for customization would be cool. Oh and support for my old nvidia gpu....

BassTurd,

I switched to Linux and have no issues with gaming. There are a couple of settings that need tweaked in steam, but it doesn’t take a computer genius to figure it out, just follow a guide or video.

For a beginner something like Mint might be the easiest transition. I went with Garuda myself, and it’s worked well, but I feel it’s probably a little less intuitive that something like Mint.

For gaming, look into proton, and how to have your games run with it and you’ll probably be fine. Keep your windows key on hand in case you decide to revert.

BassTurd,

It comes with a free doll… which is also cursed.

BassTurd,

I won’t criticize a band for changing their sound. It’s their music, their creativity, and their choice. That doesn’t mean I have to like it though. A7X and All That Remains both took a similar trajectory where they got less hard over the years. A7X took it to the extreme with their last two albums. Waking the Fallen, City of Evil, Self Titled, and Nightmare, I could listen to start to finish and enjoy every minute. Hail to the King felt uninspired, and the Stage and Life is But a Dream are to abstract for my tastes. In the case with ATR, The Fall of Ideals is imo their best work.

BassTurd,

A7X imo was great up through Nightmare. I’ve The Rev died, the sound changed too much and I really dislike their new stuff. I get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m not sure what makes it “embarrassing”.

BassTurd,

I love A Little Piece of Heaven. Lyrics aside, I really enjoy the beat and sound scape of the song. In some songs the lyrics are the focal point, like So Far Away, but usually, I just think of lyrics as another instrument. If it sounds good and they aren’t saying some bigoted shit or something like that, I don’t really care too much.

I’ve been getting into the band Dayseeker recently and I love their sound, but lyrically, it’s a lot a sad boi, break-up drama. To me that’s a little worse than a song about jilted lovers stabbing each other, “50 fucking times”, necrophilia, and undead marriage. Neither embarrass me though. If others around me find it cringy, which is reasonable, it doesn’t make the song any less of a banger.

I had a pair of relaxed fit jeans that also had polyester in the material. They were the best jeans I’ve ever owned. I got skinnier and under grew them, which was sad. The stretch on them only comes into play when sitting/squatting and it was well received. That said, I wear baggy, oversized sweatpants 90% of the time I’m not in jeans. Comfort > style

BassTurd,

The environment I work in doesn’t require polished attire. I now switch between two pairs of jeans as needed. If they appear clean and don’t stink, I’ll roll with them. I’m not customer facing and I don’t need to impress anyone. Really I have one pair that are comfy, and another pair for wash day.

BassTurd,

Wow, I fucked that up. I have edited my comment. I should proof read mobile typing.

*Only comes into play…and it was well received.

BassTurd,

Also, washed jeans take a minute to break back in, and id rather not. I don’t even have to re loop my belt each day, it’s just there for me to click and go.
