Beetschnapps,

It’s not a remake. It’s just derivative and looks like a remake. The sequels are totally not a remake, just indistinguishable from a remake. You know, cause money.

“States rights”

You start out in 1954 by saying, “n*****, . n*****, n*****” By 1968 you can’t say “ n*****”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “ n*****.”

Beetschnapps,

No that’s not really the cause. This is a known thing and reintroduction is common. For example:

www.nps.gov/yell/learn/…/wolf-restoration.htm

TLDR: Cause: “ In the 1800s, westward expansion brought settlers and their livestock into direct contact with native predator and prey species. Much of the wolves’ prey base was destroyed as agriculture flourished. With the prey base removed, wolves began to prey on domestic stock, which resulted in humans eliminating wolves”

Effect of reintroduction: “Preliminary data from studies indicate that wolf recovery will likely lead to greater biodiversity throughout the GYE. Wolves have preyed primarily on elk, and these carcasses have provided food to a wide variety of other animals, especially scavenging species. Wolves are increasingly preying on bison, especially in late winter. However, most bison biomass consumed by wolves is through scavenging bison dying from other natural causes. Grizzly bears have usurped wolf kills almost at will, contrary to predictions and observations from other areas where the two species occur. Wolf kills, then, provide an important resource for bears in low-food years. Aggression toward coyotes initially decreased the number of coyotes inside wolf territories, which may have benefited other smaller predators, rodents, and birds of prey.”

Beetschnapps,

It’s weird to think that ecologists, biologists, and other scientists who have studied this issue historically as well as other reintroduction efforts are “blindly” believing anything…

Meanwhile elsewhere… …colostate.edu/…/public-perspectives-on-wolves-an…

“ Studies suggest that attitudes towards wolf reintroduction are influenced by individuals’ beliefs about the right for wolves to exist as well as their emotional responses to wolves.”

Beetschnapps,

I mean he TOTALLY looks like Mathew McConaughey’s twin brother despite being ten years older…

Really it must have been the guys from COPS that messed it all up.

Beetschnapps,

🎵“Thank you for being a friend…” 🎶

Beetschnapps,

This was one of the only cool parts of the film Oblivion. Basically if an intelligence can cross that distance to us it would likely be a digital intelligence. That and if you want to fuck humanity without touching them, crack the moon.

Beetschnapps,

It’s funny cause there are no real winners in all this.

I honestly got this confused with Sam Altman getting fired from OpenAI.

“Responsibility to allow”…?

Take a step back and consider how stupid that sounds. The onus isn’t on others while you say stupid shit.

I mean consider even now… I’m not infringing on your free speech by telling you what you just said was misguided at best and as stupid as it sounds at worst.

You still got to say what you want. You can say it again too. Still sounds stupid the second time.

The reality is this isn’t about a person’s ability to say something so much as their bullshit argument.

When someone says “but I have the right!” what they’re really saying is they aren’t intelligent enough to have a good reason or justification. They’re instead screaming “well just cause I can!” It’s a privileged, ill reasoned, temper tantrum of an argument that amounts to “just cause I can.”

It’s weird to have someone argue that when the context of all this is support of antisemitism.

Of course it’s a positive to help support the voice of someone who might have theirs oppressed. But why go to such extremes to support the oppressor?

Why do you argue that we must advocate for the oppressor? Are we not allowed the freedom to speak up against those that oppress others? Is that speech not allowed?

You see how it’s a stupid circle of inductive reasoning that does nothing to help anyone? Bottom line is a rigid absolute, a utopia is a more destructive and stupid approach than the free speech for which you claim to advocate. Freedom isn’t possible is you tolerate intolerance.

Beetschnapps,

You got it right. If you’re already in a hospital you’re screwed. Anyone on a ventilator etc. is dead in hours. Then there’s people who need special meds that require refrigeration. They’re dead in days. Depending on the season, many more are dead in weeks. Food would be an issue but there are lots of shelf stable/canned goods that could last for a bit. Scarcity would be the bigger concern.

The dead bodies themselves could also be an issue at scale.

The crazier issue in my mind are all the industrial plants, nuclear power plants, chemical processing facilities…

In any major catastrophe they are abandoned and likely the meltdown and other issues could render whole areas uninhabitable. Might be manageable in certain power loss scenarios… but anything major and sudden like if you’re country suffered a nuclear attack or a major natural catastrophe and you survived I’d stay away from nuclear plants or chemical processing facilities. Potable water will be hard enough to come by…
