You’re joking right? Gary Larson is a very iconic author and was hugely influential.

Bob_Robertson_IX, to asklemmy in Is there an artist so horrible that no matter how hard you try that you cannot separate their art from them?

Gary Glitter… so many sporting events still play this pedophile’s music.

Bob_Robertson_IX, to lemmyshitpost in Office life in 2023

Fuck that… I’m a manager and I’m always creating memes on my phone at work that’s much higher quality than this.

Also, managers also know that office life sucks, we’re just trying to keep the wheels moving and the paychecks coming.

Bob_Robertson_IX, to movies in Are film trailers getting worse?

It isn’t new.

I swore off trailers after watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the theater. The scene where Han tries to convince Kylo Ren to turn away from the dark side was ruined for me because I knew there was a scene in the show where Rey and Kylo were having a duel.

Ever since then if there’s a movie I even slightly care about then I’ll completely avoid the trailer.

Another thing that pisses me off is when something is labeled a ‘teaser’ but it’s 1:30+ minutes long. That’s not a teaser, that’s a trailer.

This was going to be my suggestion, it’s such a delicious bourbon.

The problem is that you have governments like the Taliban in Afghanistan, pre-9/11, destroying ancient statues, trying to erase the history they don’t agree with.

Instead of returning stolen antiquities, countries that are currently in possession of them should be required to send an equivalent value of their own country’s treasure to be displayed in the victim country’s museums.

Imagine having to go to Egypt to see the crown jewels of England.

Bob_Robertson_IX, to asklemmy in How long would you live if electricity for the whole world went out permanently?

I’d rather die from starvation after having witnessed my loved ones die from similar circumstances.

This sounds like you’d be keeping food from your loved ones so they die first.

It was a joke… I was still working full time, just from home. And I didn’t go anywhere because there was a pandemic going on and I didn’t want to be around people. But the fact that I was 100% in sweatpants and lounging around the house for a year did feel lazy, but had nothing to do with the checks coming in from the government.

The entire US was given checks during the pandemic, did it make you lazy?

I mean, I spent a year wearing sweat pants and hardly leaving my house.
