Nah you’re just struggling with mental gymnastics. I like to call it “who” and where reconstruction… It’s normal to feel that way with social media, vs real life normal conversations

You check your newsfeed, you read or see something, then get emotional, you feel like you need to rationalize a response to something that is like explaining to someone why you jumped to try to pull binoculars to see something when you’re basically just seeing funny symbols through a window.

Because that’s what looking at internet comments and arguing with people on the internet often if is. Your brain sometimes actively needs to stress test your adversity chunking models and agency detection.

Agency detection, is what you’re observing sentient or a potential threat? If so can you detect the window or scope that your looking through, can you rationalize potential bias, and adversity chunking, check to chunk what potential threats there are together into one big lump and act racist to make things easier and de-stress yourself from the imaginary threat

If you took this borderline narcissism and paranoia to the extreme you could just become a conspiracy theorist, but you could also just get a wicked sense of humour and have a better degree of self awareness, I get it because I have in the past sometimes felt the same, it’s how we are when we feel that we’re stuck in a response cycle and get a kind of emotional “decision fatigue” I dunno, that’s just my take, and I could be entirely wrong, feel free to speak your mind or challenge me, but that’s just my two cents for now and part of why I prefer not to doomscroll too much these days.

Just consider that the average person probably has heaps of compressed and distorted subconscious memories that can be further distorted, deleted or hidden entombed in lies, misunderstandings or dreams, and that from the perspective of a silicon based chip, the human mind usually knows itself better than outsiders however the landscape of a mind is a dangerous place and doubly so because if a chip or even bacteria entering the brain could inadvertently screw things up and destroy or corrupt memories it’s a wonder anyone can remember a beer or brief conversation they’ve had several years ago but forget what they ate for dinner just last week. If the human brain was to detect a silicon chip attempting to act on it, we really have no idea what would happen,…

Literally no economic system or political science yet has managed to prevent the internalised drive for familicide or authoritarian violence funnily enough, one can only hope that rationality prevails over bad thoughts, but not on the basis of civilization or self preservation, but through the collective conscience of humanity coming to understand how best to maximize the available entropy and energy within society to produce the most jobs, the most utility, the most potential sex, the most systems of funding and all other human desires.

Consider thot the US is a very rich democracy yet has many school shootings, Saudi Arabia has had to deal with corrupt funding of terrorists, China uses AI to bait people into crime and arrests people on false charges and then plays catch and release while Israel funds Hamas, imports overseas Jews and then exports violent “settlers” into the Palestinian borders.

Consider that even millionaire dictators who go on holiday will occasionally commit mass genocide. All of these bad things… Are not going to disappear because of capitalism, but we can at least say that they would become more foreseeable and preventable in a world where we have movies or stories that discuss our present these monstrosities to light

Although I agree that bit torrent is a good protocol, DDL is still a valuable method of maintaining mass accessibility, and an important aspect of transport as it requires next to no background skills or knowledge, it’s also symbolic to the concept that many people simply do not believe piracy is necessarily a crime unless it turns a profit, or prevents or reduces a sale from occurring.

Meh government jobs can be depressing from what I’ve heard. The big thing is that many who work in government have watched over the years how multiple parties and various personalities fail to bring meaningful change and I can only imagine how depressing it is. It is no doubt that a government job, much like teaching is meant to be symbolic as a position of caretaking so to speak, but one with more authority than real inspiration and information.

The next big thing in my mind is the evolution of government systems, ie the human body and mind has already managed to become versatile enough to adapt itself across a variety of ecosystems, the next big thing will be how our systems adapt to the human circumstances on a large scale in a manner that will not be controlled or directed by a single authority like a government, but by a anarchic democratic meritocracy where the more material knowledge and capability you can provide the group the more information and transparency is given to you for further investment into the system you are part of or rely on.

I can relate somewhat though probably not to the same degree, I think sometimes people are just assholes. Which is why I do my best to just let my actions speak by just doing my best to help out.

Even if I get angry with my words, I’m usually very direct about what I’m upset about, what bothers me is the degree to which people are often passive aggressive in a way that forces you to respond differently from how you normally would to begin with.

I feel like most people including producers don’t care so much, they care more about promoting more people to get into the whole creatives sector so to speak so that there’s less concentrated loss of capital and risk for everyone involved including the pirates and “copyright enforcers”

Meh I had a dual boot machine ages ago. Still here collecting dust. Basically I only switched to use the Linux for down time, movies, and study, most day to day tasks from engineering software to anything I considered important enough that you do not want the results hacked or broken I would use Windows.

I think of modern machines kind of like a hammer. These days almost nobody actually remembers the guy who made the first hammer, or who discovered fire, but there’s a price tag for the bow, the paper and the hammer, not so much the making of the hammer, because the actual skill involved or required to learn about it has become challenged if not cheapened to the degree that there are now multiple paths to obtain or create a hammer, yet the benchmark quality of the hammer as well as the process for creation itself as a whole is now more of an authority than the actual original statue or monolith of “hammer man” himself.

This is why I think the many flavours of Ubuntu including the many esoteric Linux distros are still interesting but still lack the diversity of use and specialization. The fact that whole blockchains are built for XYZ while sitting around pumped then dumped to trading at cents with no use goes to show how cloud computing systems and lower level computing is still very disconnected and becoming further thrown aside to uphold ponzi schemes.

I’ll give you an example, more money is wasted on onlyfans per year than for people trying to use system XYZ for solving problem A, or curing cancer. Consider that to be one of the “good” reasons many men and women are so misogynistic, even without looking down on sex workers.
