What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

What is the least shitty shit store? Never had a good experience with any of the shops such as, wish, aliexpress and the rest of em. But which one of them is considered the better one, or more likely to actually arrive with the correct item? Is etsy considered better than the rest? Are there any of these “low priced” stores...

AliExpress screwed me recently. A vendor sent me the wrong items. I mean, they weren’t even the same kind of items. I disputed it with the vendor and they said they’d sent the right things, so there.

I opened a case with AliExpress. They asked me for a whole lot of information, some of which didn’t make any sense, along with some pictures. I sent them everything. They sided with the vendor.

Fortunately, I had paid with PayPal. PayPal looked over the information from both sides and promptly refunded my money.

I don’t expect to be doing business with AliExpress again any time soon.

I think some vendors support it and some don’t.

They look so proud! A lot of effort went into that. :-)

The transition from the holiday season back to the normal drudgery is so depressing. Is there any way to make Jan / Feb less depressing?

like, it’s still dark at 5pm, there are barely any sports on, still bitterly cold and austere and it hurts to go outside, but you’re not even looking forward to christmas or the new year. the new year is here, and it’s largely the same as last year. except you’re getting older.

This method works well for me. Having something to look forward to is always a good thing. I try to schedule some kind of small trip or event every month.

I wish I could just get Prime shipping and drop the video service. I may still drop the whole thing.

It’s worth remembering that no one thinks of themselves as the bad guy. Their reasons for doing things may not be good ones, but there are always reasons. Treating people like human beings goes a long way toward solving a great many problems that anger and outrage can only make worse.

Get a watch with a plastic or titanium case to keep the weight down. Then experiment with different bands. If you’re not a fan of the traditional metal link types, look at bands in silicone, nylon, and leather. Find out the distance between the lugs on whatever watch you get (it will probably be included in the description) and look for bands in that size. Any band with the right lug width should fit your watch just fin.

I also recommend bands with quick-release pins. They make it quick and easy to switch bands and do not require any tools.

Every years or so I try out a bunch of alternate keyboards. Then I go back to using Gboard. {sigh}

I’ve been using swipe typing for years and I just can’t get by without it. None of the privacy oriented keyboards do it well enough to really be usable yet.

I haven’t tried their pants, but I’ve been impressed with their jackets, coats, and shirts.

My last non-Andorid phone was a Motorola Krzr. It was a little longer and much less wide than a Razr. If I couldn’t have a smartphone I would go back to that design in a second. It worked very well.

AnyStream has worked well for me. Sadly, I often get better quality results with PlayOn.

PlayOn produces higher resolution files than AnyStream on the services I use most frequently.

I like both, but I mostly wear a smartwatch. I don’t always hear notifications on my phone. Having my watch vibrate at the same time has been a huge improvement. It is also nice to be able to view and dismiss notifications without pulling out my phone.

I started experimenting with smartwatches soon after they first appeared. There were a lot of limitations, but having better access to notifications made them worth the tradeoff for me. Over time, the hardware and software have both gotten steadily better. I have owned and used four previous smartwatches. My latest, a Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic, is the first I’ve had with the battery life, display quality, and speed to make me feel like I’m no longer compromising. It works well as a basic watch, in addition to all the other features.

My other reason for sticking with smartwatches was not something I expected. I was able to build my idea of the perfect watch face for myself, using the Watchmaker app. Getting it to do everything I wanted required some serious programming, among other things, but I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to have exactly what I want on my wrist.

I do still wear regular watches, sometimes for particular occasions and sometimes just for fun. I have a Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T Titanium that serves as a dress watch and a Casio Pro Trek 3500T for when I’m camping or just need a watch I can’t accidentally break. Both watches are solar powered and both set themselves to the Bureau of Standards radio signals.

I would hate to have to choose one type over the other, but my smartwatch get most a lot more wear time than my others.

Check out Wonderfalls. It’s one of the stranger things I’ve seen, but quite brilliant. The Good Place reminded me of it in many ways, although they are very different shows.

Our dogs seemed to understand what they were, but weren’t interested in using them. We mostly had workable signals in place already. I think they just found the buttons unnecessary. And our husky mix comes pretty close to talking anyway.

How do long time married couples with a single income split finances (not seeking legal advice, literally the how)

I’m talking like one person brought in all the money for a decade, then a divorce happens. Some of it makes sense - a house with mortgage, one spouse buys the other out of the house. Which is great, but if one spouse doesn’t have the income to take a loan out to buy the other, does that mean that the spouse who does have the...

If both parties are reasonable and working together you can do a lot to limit the damage. Focus on trying to end up with a fair and useful division instead of dividing each individual thing. It probably won’t all come out even, but if one party is willing to accept less it may make the overall division more valuable to both.

Remember that the partner without an income was probably contributing substantially in non-financial ways. (As an example, look up the cost of cleaning services.)

Consider a division based at least partially on needs instead of an even split. Who will benefit the most from getting the house? Who needs a car? Find solutions that you can both live. In the long run you will come out of it feeling better about yourselves.

I was in the same situation a long time back. We worked together, made a lot of compromises, and both came out of it in reasonable financial shape. It was difficult and sometimes painful, but I have no regrets.

I wish you the best!

That was my first though too.

Also, I understand why they just talk about “strength”, but it would be nice to have some real idea of which properties they really mean. Is it harder? Does it resist impact better? Does it resist lateral torsion better? Steels cover a wide range and almost always involve tradeoffs.

I don’t know why it would require its own instance. Communities for debate could be created anywhere.

Jason’s Deli has yet to disappoint me. It is not high-end cuisine, but they serve good food with consistent quality. They also have enough variety that almost anyone can find something.

I’ve been using KeePass since the dawn of time. There are now other good options too, but I haven’t seen any compelling reason to switch. It does everything I need both securely and well.
