DeepFriedDresden,

My high school offered US History, Religion History, World History, European History and 20th Century History. US Govt and Economics, Anthropology and Film History were also taught by the same dept and the credits went towards social studies requirements.

DeepFriedDresden,

Since when do cashiers actually look at serial numbers on dollars?

DeepFriedDresden, (edited )

Yeah money gets around, which means once you exchange it, it loses all connection to you. Merchants don't track serial numbers, and there's no guarantee those bills will be picked up in the next deposit to the bank.

That's why banks use dye packs, because once it's gone there's no actual way to track it. If there were, they wouldn't use dye packs...

DeepFriedDresden,

There's no state that allows recreational purchase under 21. Vapes are considered a tobacco product regardless of nicotine content and also require you to be 21.

DeepFriedDresden,

It's the 10th amendment. All other 9 amendments and many thereafter are in relation to human rights.

And states rights and human rights can actually go hand in hand, as seen by state legislatures that have passed assisted suicide, same-sex marriage, and legal cannabis laws. It has also been used to ensure electors cast their vote for the nominee or candidate who received the most votes from the people.

Unfortunately it's also been co-opted as a racist, misogynist dog whistle.

DeepFriedDresden,

Illinois doesn't even rate in the top half of states.

Between 2008 and 2016 115 domestic terror incidents were far-right inspired, 19 were far-left.

Since 9/11 73% of violent extremist incidents that resulted in deaths were caused by right wing radicalism.

From the KKK, to Oklahoma City, to Jacksonville and El Paso, the vast majority of politically/religious motivated gun violence were far-right inspired.

DeepFriedDresden,

Where I pulled that statistic out actually kept them separate...

DeepFriedDresden,

If your talking about the firearm mortality rate, the top 4 states for firearm mortality are also the top 4 for homicide rate... there are a lot of similarities between the two and a strong correlation.

DeepFriedDresden,

Pretty sure they're implying that the region west of the 13 colonies was called the Midwest, not that Ohio was considered the Midwest because it was one of the original colonies...

DeepFriedDresden,

So originally anything west of the Appalachian mountains was called the west. Then as they explored more of the land and gained territories the line that defined the west moved to the Mississippi, making the territories between the Appalchians and Mississippi the Midwest.

Now the regions are split based on census data, and there are huge swaths of land in the West and Midwest that are sparsely populated so they are larger regions in size.

It makes sense if you actually look into it and take a 5 minute google search to learn about it.

DeepFriedDresden,

That's literally how every place with a night shift operates.

DeepFriedDresden,

Lol what. If people weren't buying it, they wouldn't ship it out this early and stock it this early. Anybody with basic business sense would think, what if we put out xmas a week earlier than last year? And then it sells, so they do it again and again until the sales of xmas items don't cover the cost of liquidating the the summer items.

Why would they not want to maximize sales? If there's a demand, it's in their best interest to supply.

DeepFriedDresden,

Bro even the adult son thinks jet skiing would be better than accepting an award. The joke is turning a euphemism for death into a literal observation. Relax
