Goun,

I’ve learned to like systemd over time, but not snaps and how Canonical handles things.

Debian also uses systemd nowadays, maybe you can try devuan (I think that’s how it’s called,) which is debian based but without systemd. I only tried it once on a server but came back to debian.

Goun,

Ubuntu. It has become so shitty over time, it’s oretty sad.

Goun,

Started on me today, but it looks like you can just remove the element that contains the message, tho

Goun,

Repeatibility (is that a word?) and scriptability. I find CLI tools easier to work with and easier to get information from them.

Goun,

I’m sorry, I hate the “unless” so much

Goun,

You can even use echo, which is way faster

Goun,

Wait are you questioning the wisdom of panzer of the lake?!

Goun,

I agree.

What could be possible, would be maybe send tiny bits. For example, a device could categorize some places or times, detect out of pattern behaviours and just record a couple of seconds here and there, then send it to the server when requesting something else to avoid being suspicious. Or just pretend it’s a “false positive” or whatever and say “sorry, I didn’t get that.”

I don’t think they’re listening to everything, but they could technically get something if they wanted to target you.

Goun,

Wow, I didn’t know this existed. Thanks for sharing!

Goun,

Shit that’s awful, so they could theorically change the lisence to whatever they want at any time

Goun,

Can somebody explain in a few words what’s CLA? Does it limit contributors rights?

Largest Study of its Kind Shows Outdated Password Practices are Widespread (www.cc.gatech.edu)

“More than half of the websites in the study accepted passwords with six characters or less, with 75% failing to require the recommended eight-character minimum. Around 12% of had no length requirements, and 30% did not support spaces or special characters.”

Goun,

I’ve seen this, wtf does this people have on their heads!?

XPipe status update: New scripting system, advanced SSH support, performance improvements, and many bug fixes (sh.itjust.works)

I’m proud to share a status update of XPipe, a shell connection hub and remote file manager that allows you to access your entire server infrastructure from your local machine. It works on top of your installed command-line programs and does not require any setup on your remote systems. So if you normally use CLI tools like...

Goun,

Interesting, do you mind giving an example on what those scripts do? Why not just put the hosts into .ssh/config ?
