My kids are working on it. We bought a vr headset… One headset. They have to take turns. We aren’t rich and can’t afford one for each of them. They’re fighting each other and us over the turns. It’s clearly established whose turn it is and how long turns are. They are still bitching about it. It’s about to get returned.
Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
If you like making/engineering videos, don’t let a thumbnail dissuade you. It’s always in the details. Stuff Made Here is literally top 3 for me. He’s amazing.
I have “show read posts” unchecked, so I shouldn’t see them. I can still see them. I didn’t see them yesterday, when lemm.ee was 0.18. I do see them today after 0.19 update. I’ve toggled it on, saved, then off, saved. Still seeing read posts.
Kind of a trend, the amount of youtubers who i had loved but their content became generic after gaining popularity is quite a bit, most drastic one being mrwhosetheboss, his uniqueness went down faster than MH27 MH17
Cinema Sins. Used to be 5 minute videos pointing out continuity errors or over-use of something (Iron Man 2 Bird Bonus Round) but then bloated into 20 minutes of nit picky bull crap.
I miss gourmet makes. Claire Saffitz solving industrial food issues on a small scale was fascinating and unique. Her new stuff, dessert person, is nice, but it’s standard cooking show fare, not solving weird industrial hacks.
I’ve no problem with the trans and lefty commentary, I find that stuff fascinating…
Who is miss is Oliver. Abigail is nice, but I identified with Oliver in a lot of ways. I can’t identify with Abigail. I wish they could have cloned/split into 2 people.
Not unilaterally. Linking to reddit is fine, but bots that just repost links are not. If you, a person, find something on reddit that’s worthwhile (a comic that’s only posted on reddit, or a thread detailing a tech solution, or something else) and link it, then that’s fine. You, a person, found value on another site and shared it. I don’t care what a bot thinks. I care what you, my fellow lemming, thinks.
I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
Ah, I see your point. I didn’t relish the horror. I didn’t even understand the horror. When I was growing up, I was taught in a way that minimized or disregarded suffering. SPR did not do that. It showcased it and in a horrendous way. While some may relish in that, I didn’t and it made me reconsider my childhood support of any armed conflict as justified. I didn’t understand the costs involved. While I’m sure the movie didn’t capture everything, what it showed was horrendous.
Idk about your point of justification. It’s been a while and I don’t remember that.

bug - comment replies in inbox don't link well
In my inbox, I see a comment reply. I tap it to open the full thread to understand context, but it doesn’t load. It can’t find it....
bug: cross-post links don't always work
When I view this post lemm.ee/post/19859443 in connect, there’s a link in the text lemmy.world/post/10234840...
So, who or what ruined Christmas this year?
Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?

Seeing read-posts despite "show read posts" being un checked

Which of your favorite creators content quality went downhill very quickly?

Does anyone else resent the links to Reddit?
I keep seeing communities which seem to consist of nothing but a bot that reposts stuff from Reddit....
What is your unpopular flim opinion
