Housing can’t be an investment (i.e. exponential growth above inflation) AND an affordable place for people to live for future generations. This mentality is absolutely brain-dead.
Speeding cameras are revenue generating equipment, not safety equipment.
Roads are engineered to be comfortably driven at a certain speed. When legislators put a lower speed limit on these roads it creates a safety hazard and a moral hazard. If you want people to drive slower, you have to modify the road to lower it’s design speed. These modifications (lane narrowing, for example) are a safety tool, not the speeding camera.
I’ve never met anyone who thought these cameras were safety equipment!
Most crypto transactions are trivially identifiable these days. Most blockchain are an unencrypted public leger and most crypto retailers like coinbase require government ID.
You start off strong then move straight to supporting the fucking Taliban, as if that’s a reasonable position to take.
I agree, the article is likely highly sensationalized, but let’s be clear the Taliban are a piece of shit government with extremely regressive and repressive views. Maybe this shit doesn’t happen in Kabul, but Kabul seems bad enough that women can only show their faces and most are even too afraid to do that. That shows you that it’s a TERRIBLE place to start with even in the best places. Unfortunately many people don’t live in Kabul and it seems that the government isn’t going to do anything to stop regional authorities from abusing their power and any young woman they can get their hands on.
Don’t travel to Afghanistan. Every dollar that goes to Afghanistan supports religious oppression.
INCELS need to realise their problems stem from needing to be loved. It’s not anyone else’s job to understand them and fix their lives FOR them. But we can help them understand insofar as they’re willing to learn.
The second thing they and all of us need to realise is that we can’t get ALL our love from romantic partners. That puts a HUGE burden on the relationship. We need to learn how to share platonic love again. That’s what’s breaking us men. If we can’t learn to love eachother without toxic masculinity telling us it’s “gay” or whatever, then we’re doomed to losing men to loneliness, despair, and inceldom.
Peppa pig is FILLED with jokes for the parents. It was one of the few shows I could watch with my toddlers because of all the jokes between the narrator and the parents. I wouldn’t watch it now because the sentences and narratives are meant to match the life experience of kids up to about gr 1-2, but it was a great show.
Everyone loves when mr bull digs up the road zooms out to all the cars in the traffic jam honking.
I don’t know how you make that list. It’s wild. LOTR and Maritx 1 I’m on board solid story, solid movie, solid acting, visuals, sound design, no notes.
I don’t know how you take matrix 2 without 3, it’s just the first and second part of the same, somewhat unsatisfying conclusion to the matrix, still pretty good and they tried something that blockbuster movies rarely tried: to make you question the nature of reality.
Inception is a self masturbatory movie about the importance of movies. It’s not bad, but I don’t know how it joins the others.
Interstellar is not a great movie. The visuals are nice, but the plotline completely falls apart imo. It’s like they knew where they wanted to go, realised half way through there was no way to get there, then just used enough jargon and pseudoscience to hide the fact they drew a straight line from where they were to the conclusion. They even had to retcon stuff with janky time travel.
I’m not mad because i disagree with your list, I just don’t see what puts it together. It’s like someone saying his favorite foods are steak, sushi but no fish, apples, and fruitty toothpaste.
I don’t know if this is a joke or not but Nietzsche’s whole effort was spent on defining and opposing nihilism, not creating and advocating for it.
He realised that God (the philosophical entity which guarantees meaning) is dead and knew that God was a tool used to combat nihilism. He was afraid that at the time nihilism was seen as the only alternative to belief in God. He spent his whole life trying to establish the virtues that were required (the ubermensch) in order to lead a meaningful life when there is no guarantee that the world itself had a meaning.
The death of God may lead beyond bare perspectivism to outright nihilism, the belief that nothing has any inherent importance and that life lacks purpose. While Nietzsche rejected the traditional Christian morality and theology, he also rejected the nihilism which many thought was the only alternative to it.
