Hereforpron2,

2 here, still full, and thanks for the reminder to check!

Hereforpron2,

Haha and here I was figuring no one else noticed/minded

Hereforpron2,

You’re a true champ. Thanks so much for the amazing app!

Hereforpron2,

Maybe they can’t fly, but no one said chickens can’t be fly

The DCEU ends not with a bang, but a wimper. (lemmy.ml)

10 years after Zod’s snapped neck, Martha, “some kinda Suicide Squad”, CGI moustache, rennouncing your wish, the hiearchy of power changing, and Speed Force PS1 graphics, the DC Extended Universe finally comes to a close. And it ends the same way it started - with a Rotten score....

Hereforpron2,

I think that another risk you run by putting Gunn in this role after he found the only success in modern DC movies and series is pressure to become too Gunn-y. The same way that Marvel was so taken with Taika Waititi’s Ragnarok that they had him go even more Waititi on Love and Thunder, which clearly made it worse, and then tried to incorporate similar humor in other projects that fell flat. Sometimes playing to hard into a unique success just proves that it was either largely novelty-driven or that you just can’t recapture it.

Hereforpron2,

Ask what the most important skills or experiences to develop are for the transition to level 2, if there are any new or unexpected needs emerging in the department, if there are any specific departmental or company-wife priorities or goals for the coming year, and if there’s any way your specific role can more actively support those goals.

Depending on the type of place, you can ask if you’re perceived as taking feedback well and/or being up for a challenge, saying that you want that to be clear and would like to work on it if it isn’t. The fine line is asking a question that seems like it’s just meant to make you look good vs. a legitimate request for somewhere you can grow or do more good for the team/company, which is why keeping things focused on questions that will have actionable responses is a great move. Hope this helps and good luck! Sounds like you don’t have much to be worried about if they’re already prepping you for a promotion!

Hereforpron2,

They had only Han Solo, but, by miracle, be became Han Octet

Square root of -1 is called i because it’s an imaginary number

Hereforpron2,

Just wish I could remember the spoiler formatting haha

Hereforpron2,

I have some obscure tastes and have been shocked by what I can find on soulseek

Hereforpron2,

Chicago has hit -40⁰F and 100⁰F+ since I’ve lived here. -5 to 105 is basically a normal year

Hereforpron2,

Eh, it’s about the same as NY and winter is the only reason that homes aren’t even more expensive here, so I’ll take it. It’s the only major city that is near water, in a state that doesn’t suck m, and where I can actually afford to live. It’s pretty sweet with all those considered lol.

Hereforpron2,

Prolly calculating how fucked up he could get before and after shows while still being less fucked up than Keith Moon

Hereforpron2,

You can buy some pre-waxed wicks and melt the remainder of tunneled candles to make smaller ones with the leftover wax.

Also, check out Etsy, many more price points available on there than I see in stores.

Hereforpron2,

When someone calls and I expect it to be 60 seconds or less, I don’t wanna go fumbling in my bag for 30 seconds to find the headphones and spend another 20 making sure they hook up to my phone properly.

Plus I have epilepsy and my seizures increase when I have long calls with the phone against my face or with TWS earbuds in, which can apparently (and not too uncommonly) be triggered by the type of radiation they put off, even though it’s at very low levels. But just 3 inches further from my face and no problems. I know that’s not why a lot of people do it, and I still try not to in public, but there are various reasons that someone might.

Plus, idk about hearing issues, but I have epilepsy and my seizures increase when I have long calls with the phone against my face OR with TWS earbuds in, which can apparently (and not too uncommonly) be triggered by the type of radiation they put off, even though it’s at very low levels. But just 3 inches further from my face and no problems. I know that’s not why a lot of people do it, and I still try not to in public, but there are various reasons that someone might.

I am sure this will get downvoted to the lowest level of hell, but when it comes to people doing this without a medical reason/just based on preference, I also just don’t know why a minor annoyance triggers such major anger in others. If I’m on a train for an hour and someone is talking the whole time, that’s annoying no matter how they’re doing it. If I pass someone on speaker in the grocery store, I don’t really let that 12 seconds affect the rest of my day, certainly not enough to harbor such hot feelings about it.

Hereforpron2,

Sure, but I’d honestly also rather hear both sides of a stranger’s conversation than just one. Doesn’t feel better to me to be talking just as loud on the phone but have it against your ear than a few inches away

Hereforpron2,

Thank you. The hardest part are the people who reached out a few times who I neglected, making it feel much more one-sided. But hopefully looking and paying it forward will help with how I think about the past. That’s a great point and idea.
