As far as less than ideally informed voters, that’s a self fulfilling prophecy - why become informed when there are two parties and you are programmed to already hate one? You just vote and party lines and move on. Politicians in the US don’t even have platforms anymore, they don’t need to.

I’m not convinced very many people really understand how to properly setup and use port forwarding. I gave up on it. The more I read about this the more contradictions and dead ends I found. If you truly understand it try a day subscription to AirVPN and see how it goes, otherwise good luck figuring this out - it’s a real jungle out there.

I like your optimism but theres not a lot of great examples of the little guys winning lately. I’m not sure exactly how, but I predict things end badly for Lemmy. Just seems like a more likely outcome in today’s world. Guessing reddit does ok everyone just ends up a bit more miserable than before. I bet it took your face from sister’s super secret account. It may be super secret to her. Maybe even to your mom but all of your faces are in her phone and it’s not super secret to tik tok. They just take the faces and give them to the big account and don’t even tell your mom.

Microsoft is the biggest offender of this. Use edge browser at work because have to and this don’t show again for password saving never does a damn thing. Why admins in a workplace would ever even allow option of password saving is beyond me as it seems like a risky move.
