I’ve added my favorite YouTube channels in the comments below. (Feel free to check them out!) But, my preferences aside, what YouTube channel(s) do you want more people to see?
I made a post on r/civ (Civilization games subreddit) showing a really funky shaped randomly generated river I saw and most comments were fine but one guy was convinced that I went through the comparatively monumental effort of opening the map editor and changing the river for karma, as opposed to just starting the game and...
Shut your whore mouth! On occasion, a post might just slip by the assholes. Make another blanket statement like that and I’ll swat your grandma live on 8chan.
I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
“The dead speak! The galaxy has heard a mysterious broadcast, a threat of REVENGE in the sinister voice of the late EMPEROR PALPATINE.
Because it makes zero sense. What possible reason would Palpatine reveal himself. It’s not just against logic, it’s against character. Yes, that particular line was a rebel talking to a rebel, but it shouldn’t have happened at all.
Darth Sidious spent the first two movies cosplaying a senator. He is the titular Phantom Menace, as in “hidden”. Palplatine would absolutely stay hidden if everyone thought he was dead.
As much as I love Denis Villeneuve, I still love David Lynch’s Dune more. Yes, the acting is spotty, and there were more than a few questionable changes to the plot, but I can’t get that art direction out of my mind. That being said, I haven’t seen part two yet.
My brain rejects the very concept of Fahrenheit. Every American I’ve met has tried to tell me, “Oh, conversion is easy. All you have to do is grok calculus!” Fuck that noise
Edit: (Slice of bread with a hole cut in the middle and an egg fried in it.) I have always called them daddy-o eggs but I have recently been informed that is incorrect.-
Floppy disks? How old is this meme? In the nearly twenty years I’ve been in Japan, I’ve never even seen a floppy disk.
Paper filing is an option if you want it.
And as for cash, electronic payments have really taken off in the last year. I still value my privacy though. So I stick it out in the slow line up.
All in all, there’s a kernel of truth to the meme. What the outside sees as a Blade Runner society drenched in neon, the reality is more “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kinda place.
Disco was hot garbage except for that one episode where they ran out of budget and told a decent groundhog day story. Pike carried me through the second season though. And the only interesting character was the spidey-sense alien dude. Didn’t bother with season 3.
Picard. Well… I only lasted ten minutes into the first episode. Noped out when the motorbike helmet Romulan ninja killed the roommate with a knife. Guess they couldn’t afford stun mode on a phaser or something.
Strange New Worlds is great. I’d rank it better than Voyager but not quite original series quality. Not yet anyway. And when Jack Quaid popped out the other side of the portal, that’s when I thought I’d give Lower Decks a chance.
Any good YouTube recommendations? (lemmy.zip)
