This is probably a dumb question but what is a better way to send a link to a song to friends without using Spotify? I don’t use Spotify anymore so I don’t like going back to that website just to copy a song link so people could hear it. I just didn’t want to look weird/sus plus mp3s don’t always do a preview thing in discord (I know, I’m trying to switch to matrix) so sometimes it makes you download the file But yeah I guess I can just send the file

Can the device be turned off to give it a rest or does it need to be running all the time? I dont know if my dad is still going to use our pi3 for games (and i know i dont need anymore computers rn either)… maybe i could run it on my laptop? But i use it for school… I gotta think about it. In the meantime, do you have any guides that can reduce the time to learn?

Oh wow. I’ve never even heard of that show. I chose Doctor Who for my post because of it’s cultural influence and because I love the show, but it’s just crazy to think how much more lesser known media gets lost the same way

Yes I agree, we definitely need archival of many more parts of the Internet. It’s a lot harder for people now to access stuff that is no longer “popular” (I’m referring to streaming services here) and since so many shows are on so many different services that are raising costs it’s easier for stuff to get lost

Random thought: Windows is largely successful because of Piracy

Windows as a software package would have never been affordable to individuals or local-level orgs in countries like India and Bangladesh (especially in the 2000’s) that are now powerhouses of IT. Same for many SE Asian, Eastern European, African and LatinoAmerican countries as well....

Fellow Extreme Weather Lemmings, what are your Buy it for Life winter boot suggestions?

We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?

Idk I’ll have to see if it gets cold enough this year to wear it. I’m going to wear it on Halloween as part of my costume, and then I can ask some of my friends what I could do to pull off the look normally
