MigratingtoLemmy, to privacy in Any automated method to check for basic OPSEC mistakes whilst posting content online?

Thank you, I should have mentioned my threat model and needs more clearly.

I am looking to scan my own posts/comments for stylometry statistics, for the most part, but PII would be nice. I’ll deal with the browser-agent, Cookies, IP etc.

Threat model would likely be to prevent people who might be wanting to link my identity with my online persona. Obviously, the government is excluded since they can just mine the IP from Lemmy mods and get to me. This is someone who is interested in my identity and will use FOSS/some proprietary tools to link my identities

Don’t be friends with people using Apple. Problem solved /s

MigratingtoLemmy, to privacy in Is YouTube starting another attack on third party clients?

TBH it’s not proprietary either. I’m OK with such licensing because it helps the developers fuck the clowns over who try to take their code without even a thanks. The source is available to audit if you’d like. That’s what I really care about.

MigratingtoLemmy, to piracy in Louis Rossman/FUTO's YouTube app, GrayJay, now supports Sponsorblock... and shames you if you use it

I wish there was an add-on that could fake a view for the sponsored segment for the creator but skip it for the user. I.e. every time the user skips a sponsored segment, the extension adds a view for the sponsored segment for the creator, so they get paid whilst we skip their segment.

MigratingtoLemmy, to piracy in I'm currently downloading a show that is on a service to which I subscribe

I use YouTube to watch clips of films I might like, and pirate them.

I use YouTube Music to discover music, and pirate them too.

I don’t subscribe to services. Why should I?

MigratingtoLemmy, to piracy in I have received a copyright infringement alert, what should I answer?

If you just want a Seedbox, head over to giga-rapid.

If you wanted a compute box which happens to pirate, you’re going to have to alternate between providers periodically, change accounts, cards etc. I would personally like to have an automated setup to spin up machines across VPSes and accounts (some Ansible, Shell and cron should do it) but haven’t got there yet

MigratingtoLemmy, to piracy in What alternate Youtube frontends are there? And which ones do you recommend?

Graphene on Pixel time?

MigratingtoLemmy, to asklemmy in Anyone else missing posts in smaller Lemmy communities because they are overshadowed by the popular ones?

We should open an issue

MigratingtoLemmy, to selfhosted in Question: Best UI to manage VMs and containers?

If you’re running a compatible OS (Debian will work), cockpit for VMs and whatever you like for containers.

Or just do everything on the command line like us crusty system admins

MigratingtoLemmy, to linuxmemes in Ansible casually administering hundreds or thousands of devices

Wait how? What do you use? I think I’ve seen a Terraform connector for Kubernetes but that’s about it

MigratingtoLemmy, to linux in How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?

I’m interested in the problems you faced. I have realised that I will need GMS/MicroG for maps, and am unclear if I can get a FOSS app to host my local mail inbox without GMS. Other than that, everything else can be done in the browser (technically even maps can be used in the browser but I digress).

Would like to know which services prevent you from leaving Google
